    You might want to try trouble shooting the fuel issue by replacing the fuel pump and fuel filter. Since it doesn't matter whether it is hot or cold at this point, I doubt that ever had anything to do with it.

    you can still use disc brakes in a manual brakes car, won't be pleasant to stop but they will work. If it has a power booster then you would be smart to grab it too!

    As far as the flexplate is concerned, as long as the '70 c4 is coming off a '70 302 it should have a 28oz imbalance just like your current one, so don't bother replacing it unless there is damage.

    seriously, I paid $350 for my long block roller 302, there is no reason to spend that kind of money just to retrofit a 289 with a roller cam.

    the roller block has a different style camshaft and uses hydraulic roller lifters, whereas your 289 uses flat tappet lifters and camshaft. The roller block is anything post '86...i think. It all boils down to less friction = more HP. I'm sure some of the other guys on the forum can explain it...

    I went with the Duraspark system in mine, works great and never had a problem with the install. I think mustangs unlimited makes a wiring harness for the conversion if you don't want to cut your pretty three prong connectors.
