    Mustanganatic we have a fairly similar set up. My 89 GT is lowered 1" and I went with 94/95 spindles, 17 X 9 SSR wheels with 28+ offset, 245 X 40 X 17 tires, Baer Brakes and run the stock alignment settings and looks nothing like the problem your having. From the top looking straight down.

    I've replace my rear main 2 different times and I've always done it in my garage with jack stand at he front and rear so I have room enough to lay on my back remove parts and and pull the transmission. As stated above figure 6-8 hours and you should be safe.

    That is part of the Speed Control (Cruise Control) it's the Speed Control Meter Valve.

    Correct .......Male 1/2" to Female 3/8" NPT reducer if what you need. The same wire will reach..... no need to extend it.
