Which type/size headers do I need?

Uh... ok. I don't have time at the moment to post a rebuttal, but in the meantime why don't you school me on my errors instead of simply telling me I'm wrong.

    1 3/4" is pretty large for a 331 ci n/a motor. You'd almost be best using 1 5/8" IMHO.

    Engine builders/Machinist, got a cylender surface Q

I assume you are referring to the vertical line running parallel to the piston travel? It looks very convincingly like the damage done by debris left in the combustion chamber after motor assembly. The damage done all depends upon your intent and level of perfectionism. You could likely get...

    No scrapee? No thread!

Am I the only one who is unable to access the "CHECK THIS OUT! Long-tubes no scrapee. Excellent idea..." thread? Is it just my POS internet connection out here or is there something wrong with the link?

What to Do In A Accident

I would simply add that it is a good idea to immediately write all of the events in as much detail as possible while they are fresh in your mind. You'd be surprised how much you forget in only a few minutes.

2 step launch control set up. NEED PICTURES

I plan on moving the location of my entire MSD box once I get back from Afghan, but here is how mine is currently set up. I don't have any pictures of how I activate it, but here is a link to the shifter I use for the two-stepper. A friend of mine wired it up to his horn. The...

WHY ARE MY TOOLS ALWAYS MISSING?

I snagged a big roll of 1 1/2" foam from work but have never been able to find it anywhere on the open market. I'd love to know as well!

    1/4 MPH vs. Air Temp

Ooohh.... Yeah I see what you're saying now. Good point and even more noticeable when you run the car consistently throughout the year.

WHY ARE MY TOOLS ALWAYS MISSING?

You know how you always lose random socks and undies in the washer/dryer? Well everyone knows that those are stolen by the Underpants Gnomes but not many people have ever heard about their cousins, the Garage Gnomes. These canny little buggers are infamous for the abilities to sneak into your...

    1/4 MPH vs. Air Temp

I really can't figure out why you guys are getting wrapped around the axle on the trap speed. Your opponent could have a figure 20mph faster than you yet you can still beat him to the finish line. Drag racing is not based off your speed, it is based off your time. I know you realize that...

    1/4 MPH vs. Air Temp

A 3000 lb car driven by, say, Mike Murillo will turn a much quicker trap time than our friend GT_Rich. Of course, this is what makes racing so much fun!

    piston picture and question

Your biggest issue then will be to ensure the rod is straight. I ran my old 5.0 with a cracked piston for about 5,000 miles a number of years ago with few adverse reactions. I don't foresee you having any difficulties.

    piston picture and question

This one will be touchy... What sort of a setup will this be installed on? Compression? Torque output? If you are building a N/A motor with nothing too terribly extreme, it is possible to utilize this piston. It is by no means the correct answer and it should be replaced immediately, but...

Tax evasion if you fill up your boat or jetski at the car gas pump?

Well I dunno... it sorta makes sense. There are a lot of helpless people out there who cannot be relied upon to do the right thing. The government is right to step in and tell people what they can and cannot do. Obviously if they require an 8-hour class in order to pump gas, it MUST be...

    1/4 MPH vs. Air Temp

Fuel experiences negligible density changes in average ambient temperatures. The key component is air density, or more accurately in this case, oxygen content. As the temperature rises the density of air is reduced. An increase in 2 degrees of temperature is equivalent to 1,000 feet of...

Tax evasion if you fill up your boat or jetski at the car gas pump?

I looked through Titles 12 and 13 of NJ State Code and found nothing prohibiting the use of gasoline purchased at vendors other than marinas. Looks like you're good to go.

physics of electrical v mechanical accessories

I'm no engineer so I can't compare the actual parasitic losses of each. However, it doesn't take a genius to realize that electric controlled fans are more reliable than mechanical clutch controlled fans (plus they're cheaper). Explains the move to electric fans in new cars anyway.

Tax evasion if you fill up your boat or jetski at the car gas pump?

There is no federal law prohibiting the use of "ordinary" gasoline in an aquatic vehicle. I would be surprised if there were any state or local laws prohibiting such an act, but when considering some of the asinine laws we have nowadays I suppose I shouldn't be. As mentioned earlier, the...
