Buy or Build? Which is wiser?

There are elements of both that have appeal. I think everybody in this hobby should do a ground up at least once in their life. After that, it usually makes more sense to buy what you want rather than build it. I'm in the process of finishing up the first build I have done in a long time, and...

Where can I buy reconditioned brake booster/master cylinder combo?

Interesting. I have never seen a power drum 69-70 car. And I have looked at a LOT of them.

Where can I buy reconditioned brake booster/master cylinder combo?

I know what disc brakes and power boosters are. I just never realized Ford used power drums on the older Mustangs. I know it was quite common in intermediates. Still doesn't answer why he feels he needs a booster.

Where can I buy reconditioned brake booster/master cylinder combo?

Why do you feel you need a booster? Is this an all drum car with a booster? I'm confused.

    65 Mustang Rearend Upgrade

The 8.8 is also not a direct bolt in swap. I don't really see the huge benefits of making this conversion. It would be far easier to upgrade to a 9" if you are making serious power. If not, keep what you got.

    Strange issue with my 66

My goodness, it's Tim McCain. How ya doin buddy? My guess is you are not getting 12v in the run position, but you didn't indicate if it is trying to start while cranking (like the old ballast resistor failures) or if it is just cranking. I would check voltages and go from there. Bob Wilson...

Any chance 65 clutch/brake pedals will work in a 67?

I believe the 65-66, 67-68, and 69-70 are all unique assemblies that cannot be interchanged.

    Horn Problem

Lotsa good advice here. I always start at the end and work backwards, meaning I would hook a voltmeter to the plugs the connect to the horns and see if they are getting a full 12v or not. If not, work your way backwards to the source of 12v.

    Heads...Stockers OK?

I am assuming this is still your engine: Engine Mods: 289 bored .030 over, Ford motorsport cam, weind stealth intake, holley 650 dbl pumper, stock heads port and polish, gasket matched, Flowtech headers Flowmaster exhaust system #17273, Duraspark ignition and blaster 2 coil If that is the...

    Coil Spring question

I am not sure the 258 spring had any more capacity than the 6 cylinder springs you took out. I have 620s in mine as well, but I put 550s in a Maverick I had and the ride vs handling ratio was very comfortable.

    CJ Pony - Never Again

Fair mea culpa. You have to give the vendor full chance to make it right before going viral with it. My experience with CJ has been nothing but positive, even when processing returns.

Really Really need help with car not starting

I had symptoms similar to this and I had a sheared dizzy pin. Mat sure the rotor is spinning as well.

Really Really need help with car not starting

Is your engine ground strap still good? If you swapped heads, did you reconnect the ground strap from the back of the head to the firewall?

Really Really need help with car not starting

This may have been mentioned, but what is the firing order of the cam? Are you using the old 302 firing order and the cam is the new 302/351 firing order?

    69 Mach 1 – looking for answers about a 390 to 351w conversion:

Wow, buy a car, try and use it for something other than it's intended purpose, only to allegedly return it to form in a year or two? I will ignore the Honda engine comment as bait. I pray that this rare big block 4 speed muscle car survives you. It deserves better.

Odd fix for backfiring through the carb

So, when I get a backfire, replace the entire ignition system? Got it! ;)

    firing problem

Maybe they are firing just at the wrong time. Any chance when changing out all these ignition parts that the wrong firing order for the cam was used?

    RE: engine stand

I have the foldable one, bit I got it from Northern tool for $89.00. Harbor will have a sale soon enough, so hold out for a sale price. Folding saves a lot of room if you plan on keeping it. Avoid any 3 wheel engine stand like the plague. I am surprised they are even allowed to sell them. There...
