    Oil dumb question

    If it's hard to distinguish, you can always put a new dipstick in it from another 351C. 5.8L = ~6 QTs, and a filter is around a quart. I think we put 6.5 total quarts with a filter change in my buddy's 351 and it came right up to the mark. I think.

    tune ups

    I totally fell into that trap, tuning the carb first. No one ever told me!!! I tuned my ignition up perfectly, set the carb to factory specs, and got it sorted it though. =D

    Denis, that's not supposed to be welded like that I don't think. As long as you're careful, you shouldn't hurt the integrity of the area. But yeah, unbolt the motor mounts on the bottom (11/16 nuts?), and then the motor won't be bolted to the frame-mount part, and then you can jack the motor up...
