    Good post. Also, I'd consider learning the details of how to handle low blood glucose (BG) emergencies. Not so much for treating yourself, but so that you can tell your friends and family about it, so they know what to do when you start to have low BG problems. Believe me, when it happens...

    My DD routine (about 10 miles each way) gets me around 17 mpg. Going on highway trips, I get between 20 and 25 mpg. If I behave on the highway, I'm sure it would be better...but what fun is that?

    +1 Those crimped-on weights look terrible on a good wheel. Insist on the hidden/taped weights. If they can't do it, find another shop.
