    96-98 gt's

Uhhhh, shouldn't this be in the 'talk' section anyway??? Bullit, I can't imagine what's going on in your head that makes you think you should start a thread like this... AGAIN... You apologized... good. But didn't your mom ever tell you that apologies are meaningless if you KEEP doing this stuff?

timing tip (and power steering pump) for headswaps

I had a head-gasket leak, so had to go back in. Btw, you can't reuse a head gasket even if it's only been on the car for an hour. Once it's compressed, it can't be reused. DOH!!! I figured out a way to keep the chains from jumping teeth as you set the timing... and before you have put on...

    How are Sumitomo tires?

Why HTR+'s? Are they all-season tires? I LOVE my HTRZ II's. They are the best tires that I've ever heard of for ~$115 to $120. They're sticky, quiet, compliant, and look VERY aggressive. I will buy them again for sure.

    question

Not to be a jerk, but you might get more responses put something useful in the subject line besides question. There's a million threads out there and it's nice to know what to read and skip.

got my dyno # on my 03GT today

What air filter did you have on there before you put on the CAI?

    How to remove entire dash?

I just did it. I had the whole right side of the dash off (some more wires to get it all the way out) to replace my heater core. I had the whole dash off in about 2 hours. It wasn't that bad. You really need a Ford service manual for this. Or maybe the Haynes or Chilton manuals have it too...

    Car takes forever to warm

Sometimes that means that the thermostat is stuck open for some reason. I know that happened to me because part of it broke and it wouldn't open nor close fully

Is my clutch going???? Please help!!! 98 GT.

What you are describing could be a ton of things, related or not to the transmission. Can't you find anyone that works on cars to go for a ride with you? I'm sure I could tell what it was in 10 seconds. I'm thinking U-joints, but it's hard to say from here.

How hard to do headswap and cams on a 96-98 GT...?

I always wonder if the word hard ever makes sense when talking about working on cars. I only think of it in terms of time. The first time on my car, it took me 28 hours working all alone, and taking my time. Then it turned out the head had four bent valves. The second time took closer to 15...

question about breaking a new car in...

There are many opinions, but like a--holes, they're everywhere and most of them stink. Either you, or the factory MUST seat the rings. If you don't KNOW that the factory did it, then do it yourself. And yes, http://www.mototuneusa.com/break_in_secrets.htm is the way to do it. Also...

Woohoo!! Headswap, tune, and dyno results

After doing two headswaps in a row on the same car (guy sold me a head with bent valves) two weeks ago, I finally got down to Streetflight in Mesa, AZ and got it tuned. They use Superchips, and after adding some timing and leaning out the fuel to 13 to 1, I picked up about 15 RWHP and 15 RWTQ. I...

Clear corners.... is it worth it?

I bought the ultraclear headlight kit from 50resto here and it was the BEST ~$230 I'VE EVER SPENT ON ANY CAR EVERY IN MY LIFE. Especially since I have a 96 and the old ones were a bit yellow. It makes my car look new, and I think these headlights look WAY better than the newer style Stang's...

Anyone running the matching Eibach shocks / struts for their pro kit? & swaybars etc.

I bought what was in my sig. I'm not sure what you mean. My father sells many things, including Illuminas, and I paid less than $450. The Eibach springs were around $190. That's why the Bullitt kit looks so good to me.

Just got new wheels, which tires should I get?

My Sumitomo HTRZ 2's were less than $115 each and are GREAT tires. They're quiet, stick like glue, track well, have great turn-in, and provide a nice ride too. Love em for the money. And they look very aggressive too.

Just had Redline D4 ATF put in my Tremec

NEVER GO BACK TO THAT SHOP AGAIN! They have NO idea what they're doing. Just like the shop that put 80 weight gear oil in my brand new T5 and fried it within 300 miles. "Fill it to the top". Tell Tremec that a shop said to do that and Tremec would probably sue them. Now, as far as...

Anyone running the matching Eibach shocks / struts for their pro kit? & swaybars etc.

If buying now, I'd go with Tokico's matching kit, but maybe even the whole Bullitt kit for $450. That comes with springs, shocks, and sway bars. YOU CAN'T BEAT THAT PRICE!

    $3500 to $4000 for headswap????

Call Dan Newman at (800) 266-6049. He is an FRPP dealer was VERY nice, and gave me a great price on the head change kit.

    Tire Pressure After Lowering Car

From another thread I posted in: Forget the 44 psi max. Those numbers indicate that it's a higher quality tire, and you'd only run close to that when road-racing. The goal with tire pressures is to have the same loaded radius on the front and back wheels. That means from the hub to the...

    3v heads on a 96-98GT

I got a used set of heads for $365 delivered, later found out that they needed four valves (AFTER I had installed the heads), for ~$58, $110 head change kit, $145 delivered for used 2002 intake, and about ~$75 for other parts and gaskets. Me, about $760? Of course, I spent more money with...
