Alignment specs for daily driver - Shelby drop, 1" springs all around

yep those are the ones i recommend for the street. for racing reduce the caster about 1.5 degrees and run the camber to about -1.5 degrees. that would give oyu best traction and a bit easier steering effort, but less auto return.

    Correct T5 for a '68 Mustang

the V8 T5s are going to be the strongest ones available. they have either a 2.95 first gear o a 3.35 first gear. the 3.35 first gear is the most common. if you can afford it, the Z series T5 is the one to get.

Questionable Trade for 67- How crazy am I?

op, before you decide to just dump the inline six, think about building it instead. its lighter than the V8, can make decent power, and turn in decent fuel economy as well. what do you want the car for? daily driver? a mildly modified six will do the job quite nicely thank you.

Questionable Trade for 67- How crazy am I?

my advice would be to check the stang over VERY CAREFULLY. fresh paint and body work will hide a lot of sins. i doubt the quarter panels are original though, since they are missing the mounting holes for the side pieces.

    camshaft upgrade

depending on your budget, you can look for a good pair of used GT40 heads, or step up to used AFR185 heads. take someone with you who knows what to look for to make sure you dont get a set of heads that have been heavily milled, or are cracked or have other damage. you can also find good used...

65 Mustang 289 w/A/C Converting Stock Radiator to Aluminum

one other question, are you still relying on the original gauge? if so then put on a good after market gauge and check the accuracy of the original gauge, they tend to be inaccurate.

65 Mustang 289 w/A/C Converting Stock Radiator to Aluminum

ok first thing to do now is to flush the cooling system, there are kits and chemicals to do the job. if that doesnt help, then start looking at airflow through the engine compartment. if you have headers installed, they will tend to bloc air exiting the engine compartment, and increase heat...

Understanding the 3-Speed on the 66.

you need to disengage the clutch, THEN shift into second gear, then shift into first. if you put it into neutral then release the clutch, then disengage it again, all you will have done is to get the input shaft and gears moving again.

    10 sec street car

ok first unless you are going to run in a "run it like you brung it" class, you first need to decide what class you intend to run in. 10s, oddly enough these days, isnt that hard, but you need to go over the rule book with a fine tooth comb so you know what you need to build, what weight you...

Understanding the 3-Speed on the 66.

good. the clutch linkage is everything from the pedal to the throw out fork. there are bushings at either end of the Z bar where it bolts to the block and the chassis. my 64 falcon, and my old 66 falcon both have the same transmission, just with a column shift. however i have gotten good...

comp cams, and ford both sell the proper steel distributor gear for a reasonable cost, like $30iirc.

Understanding the 3-Speed on the 66.

did you replace the throw out bearing? if so did you use the correct one? how did it fit on the input shaft retainer? ok the first thing to do is go through the linkage and make sure all the bushings are in good condition and tight. make sure the linkage is also in good condition. ok...

Supercharged 302 (carbed) dies when braking hard

sounds like the float level might be a bit high. when that happens, the fuel can slosh into the carb and down the intake drowning the engine in fuel.

    65 mustang v8 backing plates

consider a big drum brake upgrade for the rear; https://www.quickperformance.com/Ford-9-Inch-Drum-brake-kit_p_4031.html they have conversions for the small bearing 9" that also fit the 8" rear end as well, since they use the same housing ends. parts are easy to get as well since they are...

69 mustang 302 how much horsepower can be gained with edelbrock top end kit containing heads intake manifold and carb

if you are talking just the heads, intake, and carb, you can figure about 50hp or so, just bolting those on. but that also depends on how well you can tune the combination. if you add the cam you can figure probably another 30-50hp depending on the cam you choose.

    camshaft upgrade

yep, and you dont even have to do a full port job. port matching, and then blending back about 3/4" into the ports, and then cleaning up the port bowls will help you to pick up about 30hp.
