    The Shelby will be vastly superior, if you can wait and are prepared to spend the 40K+ price. I agree, the 04 looks better, but its not built nearly as well.

    Driver's seat not secure

    01 Cobra: the drivers seat slides a little on hard brake, maybe about a half inch forward, then back. Its very annoying and probably not completely safe. Wondering how common an issue this is, and if there is an easy fix?

    Just relax and be patient. Its all a bunch of hype. These cars will be a dime a dozen within a year. Its just like real estate right now. Too many people think they're about to miss the boat, but this is just what dealers and real estate agents want you to think.

    Wait for the 06. It will have less bugs, and will more desireable in the market when you're ready to sell it. And, if you can wait till next year, you can probably pay below MSRP.

    The 03 cobra will beat an LS1 nearly every time. And the LS1 is about the only good thing about a Trans Am. They are otherwise the gaudiest pieces of crap ever built.

    60 miles is more than enough miles to utterly destroy a car. How bout taking it at 60 mph over a few nasty speed bumps. This would do more damage than 60,000 miles of normal driving.

    The question is why do the Japanese have us so beat on quality? Is it due to better engineers (which could come down to work ethic, or just a more meticulous approach to engineering). Or maybe America's best engineers are just not working for auto companes as better money can be found...

    Whats really scary is they get about the same mpg. The twin cam variable valve technology in the Z is far superior to that v6 junk in the Ford.

    If you're set on getting an LS1, get a used vette or GTO. The camaro/trans am are the poorest cars that engine ever got put into.
