Did you ever consider a used Vette?

The problems I mentioned about Vette's are well known and quite common. Don't get me wrong -I think highly of these cars. When I spoke about comfort I was referring to interior noise, the firmness of the ride, and the seating position due to how low to the ground it is.

    Pinging from the exhaust

This sound definately seems to be coming from the rear exhaust pipes on hard acceleration, particularly in 3rd or 4th gear. I call it pinging cause it sounds alot like engine pinging.

    Pinging from the exhaust

I have an 01 cobra with about 13500 miles. Only mods are K&N and FR500 catback. I'm using So Cal gas (91 Octane). I'm getting major pinging from the exhaust on WOT. Is this normal? Is there anything I can do such as maybe a different exhaust system? Thanks

    '01 vs. '03 Cobra

I would wait for the 05 GT, or 06 cobra. A completely modern chassis, better quality, and all the advantages of superior technology.

California version vs. Texas model 98 Cobra

I don't think it will pass here without the California emissions option. This could prove expensive to deal with. Hope I'm wrong.

    I need cobra advice

I went from a 92 GT to a 2001 cobra. I can tell you the rumors are true, you will notice a huge loss in low end torque until you get to around 3000 rpm.

    Bored with my catback

I currently have the FR500 catback and its boring the hell out of me, but no drone past 2000 RPM which is so great. I'm in Calif, so I can't replace the mid-pipe to wake things up. When I hear mustangs with Flowmasters I am green with envy, and these are GTs. So I'm wondering about the...

If you remove the cats, maybe you can flatten out that hump for your passenger. A hammer might work. J/K Nice purchase -have fun.

    Cobra's in the snow

Its very likely I will be driving my 01 cobra in the snow for the first time. I read in the owner's manual that if chains are required, you must use cable chains. (In the San Bernadino Mtns they require chains when it snows). My experience in the past with cable chains is they suck...

My buddy paid a near-Cobra price for a Mach 1

Keep in mind, in other parts of the country, things can be radically different. In S. Calif, Cobra's are still going for 36,000+.
