How to identify trick flow heads

Hey Gregg, I have a bad guide in one of my TW heads. Can I install this at home? Or do I need to have a machine shop do it. Also what size drill bit do I use to open the head bolt holes for 1/2" head bolts?

    Engine Balancing???

this is true, but you cant tell just by looking at the crank or the flywheel. I didnt know this until I tried to mock it up incorrectly ( I had marked the flywheel before taking it out ) and the bolt holes only line up one way.

2 road courses? WOW thats a lot. The rest is still driving around in circles. And what ever happened to racing real stock cars, not tube chassis with hideous fake bodies and engine designs never used in a street legal application, ever. Maybe I dont get it because I'm not redneck, huh?

    NASCAR WHEELS ON A FOX

OK, technically, it is racing. But its boring as hell because every track is exactly like the last... in other words its extremely homogeneous, and boring, becuase every race has the same dynamics as the last (or lack thereof).

    Head Bolt Problem/Question

I would recommend not using Ultra Black, I'm pretty sure using it to seal the lower head bolts is what eventually lead to both of my head gaskets failing. My head manufacturer recommends thread sealer (which is what I failed to notice the first time). When I pulled my engine apart again...

    thumper heads on a 347?

pushrods should be one of the last things you buy, and with TW heads pushrod length is critical so dont leave it to your machinist to wanker it up... do the research, measure them yourself and buy the right pushrods

Save your money for some aluminum heads. Seriously, don't half ass your engine build just to have to come back later and have to do it right.

I had a similar experience with a salesman at DSS, he was quoting me a lot more than their advertised prices and tried to convince me to get something else than what I wanted. It was the first and last time I tried to do business with them. So I called CHP and talked to guy named Manuel, he...
