    It all has to do with vent door position. I am not sure if one can modify the controls to stop the door halfway unless you just put a physical stop inside the venting tubes. Search for an exploded vew of the ducting to determine the stopping point you can make work.

    I would say the multi function switch since that is where all the connections run through to direct the current to the proper lights. The flasher either works or not.....no separation of lights for the flash.

    Now is the time to do a complete rebuild...maybe some upgrades. Mating to the trans is not a big issue....if manual, replace clutch and associated parts.....if automatic, consider uparading it too.
