What spray paint for temporary engine bay use??

That would be unnecessary seeing as a properly running engine stays below 220*F. Sure you could use high-temp paint but why waste the money?

What spray paint for temporary engine bay use??

I used a rattle can with Dupli-color paint matched to my vehicle's paint code. Its holding up well (I'm on my 2nd season with the paint). I bought the paint at Autozone by the way... More pictures are available at www.projectstang.com BEFORE: AFTER:

    Mysterious drop in oil pressure

Although 15psi hot idle isn't great, its just at the bottom of the acceptable Ford hot idle oil pressure limits. As long as your pressure doesn't drop much more the engine will be fine. At idle the engine requires very little oil pressure to keep everything properly lubricated.

Ticking once warmed up (not header gasket)

The lifters dont "require" heavier oil. Putting heavier weight oil in helps us narrow down the problems you are having. :nice:
