Buying a mustang

You crack me up, Ron. You don't like cars that are aerodynamic?

    What's the deal with wheels?

The worst part of the 17 inch wheels (at least on the car at the autoshow) is the 55 profile tires. I hope this will not carry over to the production vehicles. Looking at the current wheels (especially the Bullitts) with the 45 profile I don't see how they could get away with putting a 55 on...

    Buying a mustang

You have mentioned (in various threads) that you think think the following cars are ugly: Enzo Ferrari Corvette GTO M3 Are there any cars you don't think are ugly?

Here's pics of red fire 2005 Mustang coming out of MT Intl.Auto show

I got a look at the Sky-blue at the Toronto Autoshow....I was very impressed. It looked good with the 17 inch wheels but the tire profile was too high. I am jealous that you got to see the Redfire Red Stang with the 18's. I can't wait to sit in this car.

    Buying a mustang

I am considering buying a used C5 over the new Mustang. I understand how people can think the C5 is an ugly car. Looks are subjective. Aesthetically, the looks factor is a toss up between the two cars IMO. However, I can't say that these two cars are really comparable. The Corvette is a...

    2005 Mustang Seat Comfort

I just came back from the Toronto autoshow and had the opportunity to sit in the new Audi S4. All I can say is "WOW". The seats in that car are perfect. I know, I know, we're talking a much higher class/more expensive automobile here. I'm not saying that the new Mustang should have seats...

05 saleen (photochop) from other board

I don't think it will be too difficult for the aftermarket to come up with a nice body kit for this car. But, this is definitely not it. Saleen will have to come up with something completely different to improve the factory looks.

    Seat belts twisted?

The seatbelts in our cars are WORTHLESS. If Ford fixes this in the 05, I will buy one.

    Focus Cosworth, RS

We just don't need that type of performance car in North America...

    Logical decisions...

Weeeellll...I don't know if I would go as far as saying they are not worth it. The price on a Mach right now is pretty good. Some dealers are giving these things away for low 20's. Pretty good value for an underrated 310 horsepower car. That aside, I would still agree with GelatiCruiser and...

Why I'll wait for the SVT Mustang

Good point. Even with live axle out back this Mustang GT will have an improved suspension over the SN95's. The car will finally have a much needed panhard bar and I imagine that will definitely improve the handling feel of the solid axle.

    Weld-in muffler question: Flow-tubes?

For you guys that have your mufflers welded into your stock cat-back, did your exhaust shop make you buy new flow-tubes as well? When I hear people talking about this subject, they don't seem to ever mention having to purchase anything other than the mufflers.

    Yellow or White Mach-1

No offense to anyone with a white car here, but personally I would take ANY colour over white. IMHO, very few sports/muscle/pony cars look good in that colour.

    2005 wheels?

I have always been disappointed with Ford's choice of wheels for the GT. That was until the Bullitt wheels came available in 2002. The 2003 Cobra wheels are nice as well. The GT rims on the pre-2002 GT's were quite unimaginative (no offense to anyone who has them).

HP/TQ Graph for the new SOHC (3) Valve 4.6...

I don't agree...the current 4.6L SOHC is not underrated. As far as I know, the first Mustang that Ford underrated (we're talking SN95 here) was the 03 Cobra and then followed by the Mach 1. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Trading in for 05: The ugly topic of resale value

It's really going to be a judgement call. We all need to sit in the 2005, and of course drive it. If it is a massive improvement over the current car, it's going to be very tough to resist, upsidedown or not.

Trading in for 05: The ugly topic of resale value

No offense taken. You are totally right...I would be losing money hand-over-fist if I trade in for a new 05. It will take a lot of patience to wait for 2007/2008, but it will be worth it in the long run. That aside, I think if I did go for something else, it would probably be for a used...
