    Thanks for the kind words. Oddly enough I just bought an '01 Bullitt (True Blue) from an elderly gentleman. It's got a few more miles than yours (101K when I bought it) but is super clean and original. Neat cars and I'm happy to have found it. I'll post some pics later.

    You did trim or replace the rear snubber didn’t you? It’s right above the pinion and if your rear is dropped over about 1-1/2” it’ll hit. Remove it, trim it until you have about 1-1/2” clearance and bolt it back in. Bet it cures your problem

    Yes, absolutely have the flywheel surfaced anytime you replace the clutch. Cheap insurance and no matter how nasty it looks, I’ve yet to see one not clean up. I have seen. Truck flywheels that were too thin to reuse but they’d been done multiple times. Good luck!

    Good info. The ‘89 T5 in my ‘68 shifts like butter but the 5 speed in my ‘02 is quite notchy between gears. Maybe an oil change is needed.

    You mentioned replacing the rear main seal and pan gasket. If your car is leaking anywhere, even at that mileage or above you need to look at your PCV system.     Seals scoring dampers is very common and easy to fix. Either use a sleeve or an offset seal. Any machine shop worthy of the name will have either one.
