    03 Cobra Blower Questions

Yes, the o/r bassani has race pipes that unbolt and swap for the included cats. if you didn't buy them, you can buy the bassani cats for $135 for the pair. without cats and with the magnaflow cat-back it does not sound raspy at all, very quiet at low rpms and cruising... very enjoyable...

    catted or O/R x-pipe?

03-s281 said it best, I couldn't have said it better.... the look of WTF is priceless :) Go O/R! I have the bassani midpipe....they give you tubes and cats... you can have them on and off in about 20 minutes.... I think they sound better without... still low and quiet if your not on it...

why do X pipes sound "bad"??

Just my opinion.... o/r x with 2 chamber flowmasters VERY loud and Raspy even at 2k RPMs.... you couldn't even drive around the quiet neighborhoods without waking everyone up... some people like this sound though - I am just not one of them :) Now, I will tell you @ WOT - look out - it sure...

why do X pipes sound "bad"??

I love mine too! I hated them when I had my 2chamber flowmasters... but now that I have my 2.5 magnaflow cat-back with 3.5" tips... it sounds AWESOME! I can feel the power too, nice sotp feel! With an X-Pipe, even more so with an o/r piece, you need straight through mufflers to get the sound....

    IRS question?

I see you have 4.10s.... I wonder how the IRS holds up to this? I imagine some nasty wheel hop... Does anyone know if the ford dealers put on upgraded bushings, like the steeda kit? Anyone with an 03/04 have 4.10s or 4.30s???

    stock gear

Yes, stock is 327... the reason he thought they were 355 or 373 is because he probably drives a bowtie and wasn't used to ford power, Ha! :rlaugh:

    IRS question?

The IRS brace upgrade, poly bushing kit from steeda works well... and full length subframe connectors will do the job quite well.... I would not put slicks on these IRS systems... kaboom! They are breaking like crazy... those that need slicks should consider live axles... IMHO... The IRS is...

    Questions about Cobras (96-98)

Is your 95's 302 in good shape? What shape is the car in? What mods do you have? has the stock t5 seen much dragstrip action? Reason I am asking is that I have been looking for one to build up ;-)

    stock gear

There is a little piece of tin that is attached to the rear end. It will read 8.8 and another number, like 3e73, or 3d27... this is your factory gear ratio...

To 'vert or not to 'vert...

I would rather have a hard top convertable... I don't like soft tops.... I had one on my 2002 GT. Wind noice is not a problem, hardly noticable ofter a coupe... the weight difference is only a factor if you are wanting to race... The stock subframe connectors need replaced with full lengths...

Squeak coming from front left suspension

if it is constant, it could either be something stuck in your disk break, like a small stone, or perhaps a wheel bearing is about to go out. I am sure you will get more replies for help...

cooling tips for these hot motors???

A nice steeda radiator and canton oil pan will help keep things a bit cooler during the very hot summer drives, especially in the stop and go traffic... plus, I do plan on taking the road atlanta drive this july.

cooling tips for these hot motors???

http://www.racenet.net/eng/canton-pans.php CAN-15-784 I like this one, 7 quarts... flow direction to keep oil ready for pumping... plus, it has a temp sensor connection ready for a new oil temp gauge! Rock on! Thanks for the tip... I would have to say this would make the biggest...
