    Home mad Sub-Frame connectors

I like how they will look more natural with the existing frame sections. They look very similar to Tinman subframes (which I have). Do they mount the same way, with the front entering the existing frame rail and rear attaching to the side rear frame by welding the plates? Are yours...

Sealing the Trap Door on a Fastback

I was thinking the same thing, but maybe some closed-foam weather seal. The corners, transitioning from the fold down seat to the trap door, seem to have the biggest gap and maybe tough to seal.

Sealing the Trap Door on a Fastback

How have you sealed the trap door on your fastback to minimize noise and odors from entering the cab? Also I have speakers in the trap door, so they also need to be sealed too.

    Anybody using these headers?

On a 65/66 Mustang they will also hit the z-bar slightly (with a little grinding its no problem). Besides the z-bar issue, no other problems on a 66 with stock heads and PS that I could remember. After I switched to raised exhaust ports (0.4 inch) on my aluminum heads - passenger side shock...

    anyone in sacramento?

I work in Rancho Cordova, but live just south of Sac. Do you belong to any local Mustang clubs? Are you up for drag racing at Sacramento Raceway? Or do you just want to cruise?

    Valve covers

You will have less clearance between the rear breather and the stock export brace bar on a 65/66 (if you run a rear breather). Other than that, you should be fine.

    Dual Master Cylinder Installation

geordie explained this somewhat above, the "eye hole" end. It basically fits where the brake pedal support would normally. The spring clip prevents the push rod from coming out of the MC if your pedal has no other stops (also limits play). I did not replace the spring clip because my brake...

    Dual Master Cylinder Installation

Correct. This gives you some leverage to pull without damaging the eye hole because of the tight fit of the 1/2" extension.

    Dual Master Cylinder Installation

Sounds like a workable plan, but if the push rod is spring clipped into the MC it will not come off as you planned. Some are and some are not, just be prepared. If it is spring clipped to the MC you should remove the pushrod from the brake pedal and pull it out with the MC.

    Dual Master Cylinder Installation

When I converted mine, I did the following: 1) Bench bleed the MC 2) mine was held in with a spring clip. I used a 1/2" extension through the push rod hole and a lot of force while the MC was in a vice to pull it out 3) good luck.

Wheel and Tire Suggestions? -- 65 Mustang -- PICS!

It's BIG-MACs I believe! Another bad-ass vote for this car!

    Header install problems

67/68 is the same, but I think the two bolts are 3/8" or 5/16".

    Hard Fuel Line install-Impossible?

Did it on a 1966 3/8 in stainless version. Started off with the car lifted off the ground with jacks (do not lift the rear with jacks under the rearend, you may need the extra room). Exhaust was removed, but the rear shocks were still on. Plug the new fuel line to prevent material going in...

    Coil spring compressor

Almost true, I think I had compress a little to get the springs in a 1966 and 1967. After cutting 1/2 to 3/4 coil, they slid right in after the method you mentioned.

    Uni-body twist versus HP

Yes they do spin freely at times with the new motor. Because of those tires and poor traction my concerns were too high about twisting the frame, but I started to really think about it when gunning the car and seen the front twist a little under acceleration. Vinyl, at the minimum I will...

    Uni-body twist versus HP

After installing my new 352 and roughly doubling my horsepower I’m curious if I should be concerned with permanent twisting of my 1966 uni-body? The car should max out around 450 hp, 425 ft/lbs based on similar builds. I have new 5-leafs and a 3/4” sway bar in the rear and 620s, 1”...

    ROLLER ROCKER RECOMMENDATIONS

What would cause idle to settle slowly

Yea I agree with 302coupe, with that cam the idle does seem high. Sounds more like idle circuit problem and/or vacuum leak. Have you adjusted the idle screws, throttle plates, timing, and checked for possible vacuum leaks? Are you by-passing the idle circuit by opening the plates too much at...
