    First an foremost, do a FULL tuneup, and clean the MAF Sensor with some alcohol. See if it helps. Look at the spark plugs for any signs of oil or detonation (whiteness on the plugs). Does it kind of have a sound, like rocks in a metal can when you put your foot down?

    A nitrous system will give you power and not affect your mileage when you're not gunning it. A semi best of both worlds, if you can live with the consumable aspect.

    It does have the valve reliefs on the pistons, sized for larger than stock valves. Hey, I suppose if it works, any H/C/I upgrades I do would be that much better :D

    I assume if the oil was coming through the intake, it would be in all the cylinders right? The intake plenum is pretty much always wet with oil. Most of the cylinders are dry except for #1. I just tore the top of the engine off convinced I had bad head gaskets but found no smoking gun...

    The noise is usually an early sign of failure. If it smells like raw gas, make sure it's not leaking from somewhere first.

    I would just shoot for 500-600hp and spend the rest of your time/money trying to put as much of that power as possible to the ground. You'll find that it's nearly impossible with a streetable 94-95 mustang. Driving around town on giant slicks is super redneck, not to mention they won't help...
