    Cam Question for stock Motor.

And probably a bigger power gain! But he wanted that cam lope. As someone else said, could always idle it at 600 and disconnect a vacuum line lol

    Cam Question for stock Motor.

Thats what Im saying, I advise against a cam swap! The reason I suggest an E-303 is that it keeps the powerband real close to stock but adds some top-end.

    Untuned h/c/i car?

Sounds like it will probably run very well, AFR heads and an Edebrock intake would be my combo of choice if I had the cash. Like I said before, I'd only chip it if you can't get it to run correctly tuning it old-school, or have a problem (in my case, I shift at 6800 and was hitting the...

    Untuned h/c/i car?

As long as you don't have a sick or nasty combo, you really shouldn't need a chip. I ran my H/C/I car (Edelbrock heads, Track Heat intake, Lunati cam) for a LONG time without a chip, and I recently helped assemble and tune another 5.0 with a nitrous cam, explorer intake, GT40 heads (by tune, I...

How much better is the E cam than the B cam

They definitely get the job done, but there are better options out there. I think a lot of their popularity is from their price, availability, the fact that EVERYBODY knows what a B, E, F, Z, X, cam is....and you can find them in good used shape for next to nothing all day long. I ran an E...

    Cam Question for stock Motor.

And he's virtually stock and wants it for the sound. So why suggest a performance cam like the B cam, when he doesn't even have mods to support it. People have gone plenty fast on the stock cam, hell I think the B might even push his powerband to the upper limit of the parts he has on it, and...

    Please help/Car stalls

If you expect to get any valuable input you're going to have to answer the questions we've asked and try what we suggest and give input back, otherwise we may as well be talking to a wall and telling you things youve already tried.

    New Granatelli Mass Airflow Sensors??

They've got to have more than that, Im sure they still make bullets too. 90mm is stupid-huge. I thought mine is enormous and it's an 80mm pro-m...

    blowing head gaskets

The timing you run is a major problem and could be a big contributing factor, detonation raises cylinder pressures by a LOT...and if the h/g is the weak link, it will blow out first....and if that holds, well, something's got to give at some point. At 89 octane, I would run no more than 12...

    Cam Question for stock Motor.

The stage 2 is a hell of a mean cam but you need Trick Flow's valvesprings for it.... I run Edelbrock heads, and the springs are rated to .550 lift, so I went with a similar Lunati grind with less lift (.533/.544) By the way guys, if youre going to compare cams, you're best off comparing...

    Problem with Fuel filter hose

If the little white u-clip is busted....take it out, careful not to damage the rest of the fitting, and bring it with you, you can buy these at most auto parts stores. Every now and then you will find an oddball and the one you buy is too thick...take it to the grinder just a hair until it...

turning over engine thats on a stand?

This is common practice and everybody does it including me, but "technically" this is a no-no....mostly for fear of damaging or snapping the bolt if there's too much compression and you wind up further tightening it instead of spinning the motor over.

    5-speed or built AOD?

Torque converters operate with turbines that spin transmission fluid....imagine a fan that you turned on. That's bolted to the engine and turns with it. Now put another fan in front of the first, in the path of the air....the second fan, without being turned on, will begin to spin. That's the...

    Cam Question for stock Motor.

100% in agreement. We all know how weak the E7 heads flow on the exhaust-side, hence the reason for a split cam in the first place. Ford alphabet cams, oddly enough, ignore this deficiency.

300 RWHP with stock heads and cam

+1 to that. Most H/C/I combos I see tend to net right around 280 rwhp. Pushing 300 on motor will take WELL-MATCHED components, finesse, and a 5-speed most likely. In my local Mustang club, which is fairly large, I dyno second-highest 5.0 N/A numbers for a daily driver, and I'm at 268 rwhp...

    Miss/exhaust backfire

Figured I would update those who were curious and tried to help me...it was MUCH appreciated, yall got my thought in different directions. Anyways I figured I would try to narrow it down to the open or closed loop systems, so I disconnected both O2 sensors and I'll be damned, it's cured. It...

turning over engine thats on a stand?

Its hard for me to believe theres a special procedure.... If it's a block, heads-off, I tried to blow out as much debris as I POSSIBLY could from the bores and the undersides of the bores as well, then poured some oil in all of the bores, rotated the block on the stand and poured a little in...

    Cam Question for stock Motor.

This I DO agree with, on the .500 lift comment. Not to mention it'd be pushing the limits on stock valvesprings, IIRC .500 is the recommended limit on stock springs. If anyone has stock explorer cam specs I'd love to see them, I have stock 5.0 HO cam specs in a book laying around here...

    Problem with Fuel filter hose

Sure the filter is right? Compared the fittings on the new versus the old filters? Theres obviously a difference, either the new one is too thick or too long, or the connector broke when it came off the old one.
