    REDNECK MUSTANG PICTURE THREAD!

It's only redneck if you "want to run decent ET's" on your way to work every day :rlaugh: Seriously, if your car is parked in the Walmart lot on slicks and skinnies... you better have a cowl hood and a Hedman sticker on the side :nice:

I wanna start a foster home for neglected cobras

^ this. I've seen far worse. Hell, an unpainted 6" cowl hood looks worse, but gets a pass because it's cheap. And nobody is as much a DB as the narrator in the vid. It's someone else's car he's knocking, and yet doesn't show us his own fine piece of tasteful art :/

Looking at 04GT, what yall think?

Have you driven it? Have the windshield fixed before buying it, IMHO. No reason it is still damaged if "insurance" will really fix it. Whether it is worth it is up to you. Can be a real PITA to find a clean 5-speed, and the price seems reasonable. Looks pretty good, too, even if I might...

    1999-2004 charges year by year?

Might as well get a Ferrari if those are the only considerations and money is never an issue :) FWIW, I'd rather have a clean, low-mileage GT than a ragged out Mach 1 for the same money. I'd like the Mach 1 motor, but not if it is blowing smoke and bolted to a POS.

Gas Pedal Getting Stuck At WOT

The problem for usually uis caused by my foot pressing on the gas pedal. I typically solve it by removing the foot from the pedal, or simply reducing the applied pressure.

    corvette question

There's a billion Mustangs out there. My arm'd get tired if they all waved at me and expected one in return. I'll usually wave back at any child who waves to me when I'm driving, but I would feel odd waving to people just because of the car they drive. I'm guessing it's not just me

    03-04 gt 3650's question

wikipedia is wrong, and one of us should fix it.

    03-04 gt 3650's question

    0.62, I believe. ~2000 rpms at 75 mph in my 2003 3650 5-speed with stock 3.27 gears.

can i put MY BRAND NEW 6.8 liter v 10 in my 2002 GT

I wouldn't want the 6.8 in a Mustang. It's not a performance engine by any stretch of imagination. The V10 in the Mustang Monthly article was a one-off based on a 4.6 block. The 6.8 is based off the 5.4 block, so it will be quite a bit wider than the 4.6, and has a bore-stroke ratio that is...

    Body Roll! Pics

I'm with you on the understeer issue. There are a few things to try first that are free. First, front tire pressure is really important. You don't want the tire to be rolling over when you turn. Before buying anything, add pressure to the front tires and see if that helps. Too much...

    Body Roll! Pics

That's hardly enough body roll to comment on  Unless you have wider rear tires and experience understeer when you get on the throttle, a stiffer rear bar won't do anything but make the rear looser and hamper your ability to put power down around a curve. Stiffer springs will only make...

    Smoked Healights...Silverstars vs. HID?

Old headlamps are a lot dimmer than new. HID kits for halogen lamps are not really the answer. They throw off a lot of light, but decent headlights are designed to do the same. It's not the brightness of the light, it's where it's aimed that does the job. I don't know what the hell some...

    04 mach 1 or 06 gt

Mach 1 as power is close enough but the Mach 1 is lighter and more aerodynamic. But it would be an interesting race either way. Drive it like you hate it. :win:

    99 GT engine knock???

They sold 100K+ each year. Be a wonder if they all did survive in nice shape :)

Love my Stang, but don't know how you guys who drive them daily do it

I can't see why I'd drive something else. Most of the people I work with are convinced I spend a mint on gas, but when it comes down to it I have a shorter commute than most and actually spend less on gas than folks driving crappy FWD economy cars. And if I had a family I'd consider a sedan...

    All Season Tires

I don't know if you are going to get 3 years of driving from any tire on a V8 Mustang. But if you ever drive in cold weather, all-seasons work far better than summer tires. And if you aren't driving in snow, snow tires are worse than all-seasons for noise and handling.

    All Season Tires

I've had a set of those before. They aren't the best all-season for driving through snow and ice, but probably the best for the rest of the year. And they aren't bad on ice and snow, they're just not comparable to a real snow tire. I'd say do it.

    carburated 4.6?

Well that's pretty cool. Don't know what all you have on those cars because I'm not the only one saying an early 80's Fox weighs half a ton less than a New Edge. Be interesting to see the dyno sheets of the two engines. It's not exactly like you have two motors that are identical except...

    carburated 4.6?

The point is that your stock Capri weighed ~2500 lbs. Your stock 03 Mustang weighed ~3200 pounds. If you simply put a stock 4.6 under the hood of both, the Capri would tear the 03's paint off. The carb set-up has nothing to do with it. And the reason people mention your grammar and...

I just don't like Chip Foose design

I won't argue that he's not an artist or that he doesn't do a good job on the cars. It's just that I don't like the style he works in. At all. JMO :)
