    new 3.5L V6

No, they were different model years. But I was compairing insurance cost when the V6 was brand new vs. insurance cost when the GT was brand new.

    03 Cobra E Brake Handle

Check out Performace Parts. They, least use to, have them. John's Mustang is another possibility. The Ford Source.

    Tower Strut

Good question! I was thinking of adding a two-point STB due to it being a much easier installation. Having to drill and tap the holes on the towers is bad enough, but adding the holes to the firewall is one major job. This is quite unlike the late 90's Mustangs where, if they didn't...

    Strut tower brace - stock?

I thought the STB was lost, along with a lot of other nice little things, as part of the massive "cost reduction" the Mustang underwent in either '96 or '97. However, adding a STB is trivial to those Mustangs. They still have all the holes, and the holes were still all tapped. So, adding...

    new 3.5L V6

If your budget is tight, be careful of insurance too. My insurance almost doubled going from a V6 to a GT (same insurance company, same driving record, etc).

Why did my dealer quote me 27,000 for 05GT? Anyone?

From BON... "A big part of Thai-Tang's job is to make the Mustang's driving experience as inviting as the window sticker: Prices range from below $20,000 for a V6-powered version up to the mid-$50,000 range for a limited-edition, power-packed 'Stang."

05 vert caught on the street!

You are right that designs evolve, but "retro" is something different. "Retro" is when they do a rewind, and go back and reclaim a part of styling they have long since dropped. Basically, a discontinuity in styling by jumping back, rather than a more continuous evolution.

05 vert caught on the street!

I am not a fan yet either. If I wanted a '67 Mustang fastback, I would buy one. I really don't want a new 2005 looking "dated" and "40 years old" on day-one. I guess it is tough to look "retro" and not cross that fine line and become looking "old" or "antique". Chrysler had good results...

    05 Leather

I never took any pics of the leather from my Explorer Eddie Bauer. However, I would be glad to describe it in more detail. The leather started out very nice and smooth. After a while, it developed wrinkles. No big deal. I kind of expected wrinkles to develop as the leather "formed" itself...

Pricing for 03 and 04 due to new o5?

But probably doesn't have the Mach 1000, the interior upgrade package, and the bright wheel options.

Pricing for 03 and 04 due to new o5?

I have a 2003 GT vert premium, and it has a 5 speed.

What paint Colors you like to see on the 05 Mustang

I would just settle for better quality paint, where no one would suffer with flaking and pealing.

Talked with a Ford Engineer at the Dallas Auto Show Today DUW

Interesting. A real Ford Engineer would know that typically they are forbidden to talk about future designs and products.

    05 Leather

I agree with that! Ford leather sucks! The leather in 6 year old Jeep still looks like new. The leather in my 1.5 year old Mustang looks far worse already, and the Mustang has had a much more pampered life. Sorry, but I have owned Ford leather before. Ford leather has always been...

Re: 2005 Mustang GT Anti-Theft Optional Package

With all the anti-noise laws, where the owner of a car who's alarms sounds off gets a ticket and a fine, I am surprised that Ford didn't opt for a paging system instead of just beefing up the noise.

05 Spotted on the street?! PICS and VID inside!

I thought in 94 (and 95) the white was "Crystal White" ???

what to look out for in an 03/04 gt

I believe that was actually "sneaked" in, early in the 2003 model year. My October 2002 built 2003, doesn't have the center vent cut off switches. However, the photos in the 2003 brochure showed them.

    The $20K V8 thread

It would be nice, but I am not as optimistic as you are for the price Ford would charge for that combination. I think it would be a bit higher, possibly in the low to middle $30k range.

05 GT Base Price of $26,900...

My local paper did a story on the Auto Show, and a few columns on the new Mustang. It mentioned that there will be a V8 option for base (V6) model. However, it didn't say that the V8 would be the same V8 used on the GT. It could be the base model, with a V8 option, and no other options, is...

    The $20K V8 thread

My local paper did a multi-page writeup on the Auto Show, and did a couple of columns on the new Mustang. They mentioned that there will be a V8 option for the base (V6) model. However, they didn't mention which V8. I guess if Ford wanted something cheaper, and didn't want to directly...
