Ordering suspension tomorrow (good combo of parts?)

It seems that almost everybody that lowers their car gets all latherred up about CC plates. They are important under certain circumstances but not as much as you might think, here's the argument: The CC plates will allow you to align a car that has been lowerred to the extreme, no problem, I...

Ever wish you had a different mustang?

I love mine it has all the mods to it that I want KB blower/ eibach/ Cobra brakes/ Cobra IRS, it's just that sometimes I wish I had the same body shell in a car that I wouldn't mind cutting up and turning into one of these... http://www.griggsracing.com/article_info.php?articles_id=25

    2.1 kenne bell questions

No doo doo, you actually talked to Jim Bell? I've been trying to get hold of a knowlegeable person there for several years. Customer service has never been their strong suite, maybe they figured that out finally.:jaw:

How bad is it to "engine brake" with a manual tranny?

It sort of sounds like you may have downshifted a little early and got into the rev limiter, that might explain the "pop" sound, but so would a leaking exhaust pipe. YouTube - Griggs Racing Track Record @ Infineon (1:45:101) YouTube - Agent 47 Track Record @ Infineon (1:45:4) what you...

    Wheel/Tire Package Price

The wheels are aftermarket copies, the tires are relatively inexpensive, no problem with all of that, but you do get what you pay for. You may also want to try discount tire direct.com or tire rack.com

rear suspension woes! i need assistance!!

Unbolt the shocks and see how the car sits. (shocks should not effect the ride height) if the car sits normally, then the shocks are the wrong application.

whats the cheapest throttle body/plenum combo?

+ another on RPM outlet, they had the best prices when I bought my 75mm Accufab TB, and CL elbow.

    intake

I don't completely agree with that, IMO they do make a difference, although I would agree how much is up to question. As an example just a cold air kit with no other mods might beworth 2HP, combine it with a set of headers and an intake elbow it might be worth 5HP, put a blower on it and it...

    New guy here

I've never been a fan of flowmasters, however, recently, I did an IRS swap and ended up with a set of cat back flows. The mileage actually picked up using those, and they don't seem to make too much racket in the vehicle (unlike the "X" pipe) so I guess you could say I'm now a fan of the flows.

    acetone with a twist

Acetone is a polar solvent more similar to MEK or lacquer thinner than turpentine. back in my race days some folks (not me of course) would add 2 ounces of an oxygen generator to 1 gallon of fuel and it would turn it into a rocket ship. You'd have to rejet the carb to keep from burning up the...

    cobra brakes

Let me warn you about one area, the GT brake lines need to be disconnected at the bulkhead on the car NOT the calipers. The line will physically bolt on the calipers but it won't index properly, keep the GT brake lines with the GT and visa-versa. The danger here is that the line can work loose...

Steeda sport springs, should I get CC's?

OK, you really, really will need these. I don't completely agree with SaleenGT2001 on the need for CC plates, because there are a lot of things going on here that you will need to address that are (for right now) much more important than CC plates. For one thing, your bump steer (what happens...

Nope, spend your money on the taller lower ball joint and the bump steer kit instead.

    painting a 4.6

I went over the top on 2 different occaisions back in the 80's when I was doing car shows. In one case I had the block hot tanked, primed it and painted it a basecoat white pearl. I then used masking tape for pinstripes and fogged on a light orange candy. The I peeled the tape off and shot the...

Need new clutch for 2000 GT

While you're in the bellhousing, and especially if you're planning some more mods in the future (especially gears) this would be the time to do some research on an aluminum flywheel. I'm currently using the KC clutch and a Fidanza aluminum wheel in my 99. (it has a KB blower). The blower sort...

    new rims

Give the guy abreak, if he wants to put bigger tires on his car, well, it is HIS car, you spend your money, he spends his. I own a blown GT with a lot of mods, but with the gas prices the way they are, I also have a 93 4 banger notch..with Cobra wheels. It looks good, it handles good and with...

the reliability of a blown stang

When you say "Tims" are you talking about JMSchip?, I bought my KB from them and KB butchered the chip, JMS stood by the product so I have only good things to say about JMSchip. KB on the other hand..good product, crappy customer service. I'm pretty sure that the surfer-dude kid that answers...
