Motor mount - Short or tall

NO you do not need to order the frame mount brackets. The Ron Morris mounts bolt in place of the factory style. Personally if I needed to by the stock frame mounts and engine mounts, I would go with the Ron Morris. At that point you really are not spending that much more money.

Motor mount - Short or tall

I don't know the exact differences, as I never compared. 15 years ago when I did the stock mounts I had to put a short on the drivers side . I couldn't get the bolts to line up with 2 short or 2 tall. It made the engine sit cocked to the side but nothing significant. It was driven like this...

Motor mount - Short or tall

If I recall correctly 67 mounts are different than all other years, If you had to order the frame mounts you should get them for the 68 and up, and use the 68 and up mounts. Or for what you will be spending go with an adjustable mount like Ron Morris. On my 67 I had a tall and a short. Made the...

anyone bought anything from LAUREL MOUNTAIN MUSTANG

I bought a front end rebuild kit from them. This would have been about 2 years ago now. I have not driven the car but 2.5 miles on her since, so can't give much feed back on the ride quality. They are good people to deal with. The only issue i had was one of the tie rod adjusters didn't want to...

What to do with inner fender?

Dash plate came into effect in 68. Before that the vin is stampped into the inner fender at the left front. There should also be one stampped so the the fender covers it when bolted up on the right side. Although my car did not have one on the right side. I replaced the innerfenders and core...

Would you let your child ride in your stang?

lol I used to fall asleep up on the package tray. I would not take my newest addition in the 67 till he is over 1 year old. But my 12, and 5 year olds I had no problems in taking when the car was on the road. Even when it wasn't necessarily road worthy...., but I live and drive on county...

    Rubberized Undercoating

are you sure that the undercoating wasn't sprayed over the rust to hide it at some point? I am always suspicious when looking at a car that has a nice or to fresh of a looking undercoat on it.

    Cowl vent leak

Sounds like we have pretty much the same issue though. As you put it when I "massaged" the cowl for clearance I split it. It was more rusted than I had predicted, and I was being careful. It didn't look bad at all from the underside, meaning no pin holes except next to the hat on the drivers...

    Cowl vent leak

I have one at the moment also. Unfortunately I tried the cowl hats but mine was to far gone. Then when I started to do my T5 swap I punched a hole in the cowl trying to clearance for the Mustang Steve style cable setup. I am working on doing the cowl replacement. I am hoping to not damage the...

    Cowl vent leak

Depending on how bad they are rusted you may be able to get away with installing the plastic cowl hats. If that doesn't work you could get one of the plastic covers that clips into the vents from the outside for when it is raining. Down side to that is no fresh air for the defroster. This...

14 inch tire recommendation 68 styled steel

Did you think a bit wider looking 245-60-14? You can get the BFG TA in that size, they are in stock at TireRack. That is what I am getting to replace my current tires if I don't go with some new wheels. Although not sure what the stock wheel specs are for if it would fit in the well? I am...

    Cowl Vent Repair

LOL the old electrician mentality gota love it (Master in 3 states here).... How about ya hang on that box and have a helper smack it with a hammer and see if that little screw head and you fall to the ground. I even tried to find the stuff you mentioned and all I saw was structural plastic...

    Cowl Vent Repair

I bit if you read the label on the product you are getting it says not for structural repairs. Even all the adhesives used on new cars are only to hold the panels on, never anything structural. You also need to think about it this way. If you ever decide to sell the car would you disclose how...

going to attemp to redo my seats

When I did mine I put a bit of burlap between the new buns and the frame. It looked like there might have been some form of plastic style in the new seat buns I got, but I figured it would help keep the seat springs from chafing the new foam. +1 on bitching at the hog rings. And if you happen...

    Clutch, flywheel question T5 swap

I agree, that is why I am going to try and sell it. I just need to get around to taking some pictures to post some stuff... Ceramic coated headers, remote shifter, C4 bell-block plate-inspection cover-flexplate, some high back seats, Torker 2 intake, old holley carb, and some other odds and end...
