    painting new suspension parts?

I cleaned (can't remember what exactly I used) and re-painted the my new upper and lower arms, giving them the dipped factory look. My new steering linkages and pitman and idler arms were cleaned and cleared.

    Tire help

Personally, I like a 225mm width on a 7" wheel. This is the route most OEMs go nowadays, as you have plenty of sidewall "bulge" to protect your wheel against minor curb rubbing, without going too wide. There's simply no point in going with a superwide tire, as handling suffers especially in...

    Maier Sub Frame Connectors

I felt the same way, and I couldn't afford to have them hang so low since I'm going with side-exit exhaust. Because of this, my restorer is fabricating connectors that extend through the floors (inside the car).

    Welding Through-Floor Subframe Connectors

Hi, For those of you who fabricated custom subframe connectors that run through the floor, how exactly did you weld them? I'm having my the body guy go this route to maximize clearance for side-exit exhaust, and I just want to make sure they're done properly. Below is a link of a...

mounting fender badges with 3m tape

+1 on the tape with red backing, you can even find it at Walmart (my local store, at least). I'm doing the same thing for the rear "GT350" emblem on my '65 clone.

    DECODE EXPERTS

I can hardly read the characters, but it looks like a C-code (5th character is C) built at the Metuchen plant (2nd character T). And the 4th character looks to be a 9, verifying the car is a Fastback. C-codes are common, so I wouldn't refrain from modding the car based on rarity.

    65/66 Suspension picture

Hi, here are a few images I took when installing mine. Hope these help...unfortunately these are the only images I have to offer right now since my car is currently in the shop. FYI, as you can see the original outer tie rods were replaced with a bumpsteer kit. My pitman and idler arms are...

    Grudge race w/ co-worker

I say go race for the fun of it! Who cares if he's a bit faster? BMW M3s are superb machines, and he should beat you...a E36 M3, even stock, with a competent driver and fair track conditions should be able to break 14s. If you beat him, on the other hand...you will certainly have some...

    Subframe Connectors w. Side Exhaust

SuperSnake428...did you see the images I linked? If you view the album, you'll see those connectors barely reduce ground clearance at all where sidepipes would exit. I'm going with a side-exit exhaust as well, and that's why I'm going to go this route and have some fabricated. This setup...

Bedliner under carpet or in trunk?

In case you're interested, I used a product called Sound Control... http://www.chemicar.com/water_sound.php . It was very easy to spray on, adhered very well, and is not thick at all. I also sprayed it on my old door (not being used) to test its durability. After giving it a few whacks with a...

    Subframe Connectors w. Side Exhaust

Thanks for the input. I also posted a similar thread on the Vintage Mustang Forum, and got this recommendation... http://community.webshots.com/photo/197690732/1464195362060268584RJlGmf (there are images from other angles if you view the entire album) These subframe connectors basically...

    Anyone with Weber 48 IDAs?

Awesome! Just saw the pic...that light blue is one of my favorites...reminds me of the blue Shelby used on a few of his competition Cobras.

    Anyone with Weber 48 IDAs?

Mustbereel, did you buy your engine from DSS in St. Charles, IL? I know many who go with the Dart/AFR combo buy from them. They're about 10 minutes from my home and I'm probably going to buy my engine from them. Just curious if that's where you got your Dart block and AFR heads.

    Anyone with Weber 48 IDAs?

Thanks for the info. I really have my mind set on Webers, and plan on building an engine around them, so if a solid roller cam would work best, I suppose that's what I'll end up going with. And wow, a good setup is worth 40-50hp...that's impressive, I didn't realize they were good for that...

    Anyone with Weber 48 IDAs?

I've heard people talk of differences between the new ones and originals...any reason to go with originals other than originality (don't care about that, and I know they can be very difficult and costly to obtain)? Looking at new Weber setups, I've came across sources like...

Coating for '65 Shelby (Street) Cragars

Hi, I have new reproduction '65 GT350 wheels (cast aluminum center, steel rim) I bought from Branda for my '65 Clone. Anyone using these wheels? I'm wondering if I should coat them with a clearcoat or something to protect them...do you recommend anything for these wheels? I've done a search on...

    Subframe Connectors w. Side Exhaust

Hi, I was just wondering what others running side-exit exhaust have done wrt subframe connectors. Obviously ground clearance is a concern with '65 GT350-style side-exit exhaust, so I'm curious what some of you have done. Has anyone had some fabricated that run through the floor? I have new...

    '65 R-Model Rollbar (Fastback)

Does anyone have pics of Branda's '65 Shelby Rollbar installed? The 4-point bar came in 3 pieces, and I was just wanting to see where exactly it's welded to the car. Every pic I can find shows the mounting points covered by the fiberglass rear shelf. Thanks in advance!
