SN95 caliper to Granada spindle bracket

I prefer the thicker more massive rotor for the reasons stated. As I said, the 70-73 shield is not feasible. Not feasible, in an engineering sense, does not mean impossible. It means that, all things considered, I have determined that it is not economically viable to alter the current design to...

SN95 caliper to Granada spindle bracket

The PBR caliper, pad, and bracket set are designed for a 1.024" thick rotor. Using the rotor I describe gives correct dynamics between the caliper, piston, and pad. This is very important when the pads and rotor reach their wear limits. The additional mass of my rotor is also increases fade...

SN95 caliper to Granada spindle bracket

Members of this and other enthusiast forums are a lot more performance oriented than the majority of classic Mustang owners. My main target market is those average owners. Their number allows me to produce and sell in fair quantity and keep cost down. There are already kits available that allow...

SN95 caliper to Granada spindle bracket

I have finally succeeded in engineering and modeling a direct caliper bracket for connecting a SN95 aluminum dual piston caliper to a Granada spindle. It took 5 prototypes to tweak the design and production. Much of the design work involved selecting a suitable mating rotor. The best candidate...

any one done this brake swap?

I'm not speaking of the rotor to wheel mount surface. The rotor disc/caliper position is further outboard because the rotor hat is short. The problem is that it is not good to place the rotor disc and caliper further outboard than it is with the OE application. One wants the unsprung weight as...

any one done this brake swap?

The SWAP.1 will work, I just need to figure out the correct rotor and bearing set for the large pin spindle on a 70-73. The rotor from 68-69 using the large pin bearing set from 70-73 results in the rotor laying about 0.05" too far outboard. I'm sure someone on this board knows the correct...

any one done this brake swap?

At this time, I'm not offering the SWAP.1 kit for the 70-73 application. I don't have a proper rotor/bearing set for the caliper.

What disc brake kit should I choose? SWAP.1 or SWAP.3 kit from discbrakeswap.com?

I'd contend that all 3 kits are roughly equivalent, from a performance standpoint. All use an 11" rotor that weighs about 10 kg. The pad areas are about the same. They all perform the common goal of affording basic cost effective proven performance OEM style disc brakes for our drivers. In...

    Bump steer or... ?

B, I get regular phone request from guys who wonder if I sell the knuckles alone. My first question is, "does your car have an original Granada swap along with the Shelby drop, and are you experiencing bumpsteer". The answer is invariably, yes. I haven't receive similar request from users of...

Mustangsteve - anyone placed an order recently? Ballbearing kit MIA

Your paypal payment was probably made to the wrong address-spelled slightly wrong. In my opinion, you should contact a vendor and allow resolution of a problem, before posting here about it.

Found for sale disc brake conversion

Thanks for the vote of confidence. You don't need to upgrade the 6 cylinder steering linkage. The SWAP.2 kit includes geometry correct spindles and adapter outer tie rods for 6 cylinder cars.

I am still working on a drop spindle. It will be designed to use a SN95 caliper.

    Disc Brake Swap recommendations

I do sell the bare knuckles, but they are not compatible with the late model Mustang caliper take offs. Those use drum spindles.

    Disc Brake Swap recommendations

If you need spindles, The SWAP.2 is probably the way to go. If the rack comes with unique outer tie rods, make sure you specify that they will fit "Granada" spindles. If they use standard Mustang outer tie rods, there is no problem.

    Disc Brake Swap recommendations

Golf, My claim is that my 65-66 spec Granada spindle has identical steering and suspension geometry as the original 65-66 drum spindle. Original Granada spindles have steering geometry that is the same as 67-73 Mustang. I manufacture both types despite the fact that the difference is small and...

    aftermarket brakes on granada spindle?

The next prototype will probably be ready in about 6-8 weeks. I need to hold on to the prototypes for reference purposes. I'll order 6 sets of the next prototype for air delivery. I'll take the chance that they are correct. I'll allocate 4 of these for user testing.

    aftermarket brakes on granada spindle?

SN95 to Granada bracket I am working on a direct SN95 PBR caliper to Granada spindle replacement bracket. See picture below. This is the first prototype casting. It needs a little dimensional refinement, so at least a second prototype will be required. As always, the pricing will be reasonable.

    Mustang Drop Spindles

Thanks, I suspect they are the source for SSBC or vice versa. They do provide an original part number. Now I must wait till Monday to talk to them.
