    Fords in Euorpe *PICS*

Ford doesn't "send" any models to Europe. European Fords are built in Europe. Australian Fords are built in Australia. The short answer is because standards are higher in Europe, gas is more expensive, speed limits are much higher and if they tried to sell cars with the same quality as their...

    New with pics..

No every 16 year old should be driving a Pinto. It's definately a great first car though.

    Don't sell your Fox

Not at all, I could buy a new Mustang if I wanted to. I actually choose to not buy any new car because, financially, it doesn't make sense. Just because you can afford to spend $30k on a car doesn't mean it's smart (unless you pay the whole amount up front). You'll actually need more money...

    Don't sell your Fox

I understand perfectly - still think that dollar for dollar - foxes are better. And Keep in mind no one here is thinking about stock foxes. I understand completely that most people don't want to bother with modding cars - they'd rather just buy something and drive it. Great for them. Not for...

    Don't sell your Fox

lol. How would that be fair. If you want to play that game, I'd just buy a Factory Five kit car for around $10k and still have $17k for the driveline, once again destroying your new S197 in every performance category. The song remains the same - if you want a $27k daily driver, buy the S197...

Any tips on installing head unit and speakers in 88 Mustang Conv 5.0??

How serious are you? Are you going with amp(s) and sub(s) or just a couple of 6x9s powered by the deck? When I did my last one, I bought an adapter harness, spliced new wires into it and routed them to all the speakers, leaving the factory wires completely intact. The only wires I didn't...

    Don't sell your Fox

I'd race a $27k Fox against a $27k S197 anyday. Hell I might even bet on it. I'd much rather put $600 a month into mods than car payments, but if you can afford both - more power to ya. Also , Gearbanger - S197's don't have 5.0s so why are you still browsing the 5.0 forums? You just...

Have to hold key on to keep it runing

Bad ignition switch will do the same thing sometimes before it breaks completely. It happened to me on the way home from work one day and I had to hold the key for about 10 minutes to get home. It would still start and run as long as I held the key in the "start" position but the ignition...

Help me fix and make $50!

If it were the ignition switch, it wouldn't crank. Same thing with the starter wire. I would check all of your ground wires, though. Do the spark plugs have any gas on them after you try to start it?

what cai w/ c&l mass air meter?

JLT makes awesome CAI's, but like 93lxdm78 said - CAI's + C&L MAFs normally = idleing issues. The stock airbox is fine - just make sure he gets rid of the air silencer and puts in a K&N air filter. http://www.jlttruecoldair.com/

    I WANT THE LOUDEST EXHAUST.

Open headers straight up out of the hood. That's about the loudest you can get. Or you could go ask on a Honda forum. Those guys are pros at obnoxiously loud exhaust. If they can make 4 cylinders sound that loud, imagine what they could do to a V8. Also, make sure you remove one spark...

    Don't sell your Fox

Exactly. Most people who buy the new Mustangs aren't car enthusiasts....most of them probably don't even know where to find the oil drain plug and are more worried about how soft the seats are and how cold the A/C is. Most people who buy older Mustangs are enthusiasts who do their own work...

Running my Starter & 1 wire Alternator cables tonight....

    1. - you shouldn't run a cable all the way from the alternator to your battery - there should already be a wire going from the solenoid to the battery, so you just need to connect the alternator to the solenoid (the same post where the positive wire for the battery is connected). And there...

    17 X 9 Rims For Fox Body

Your car has the same bolt pattern and backspacing as the 87-93's. This is the first time I've ever heard of this. There is a very limited number of aftermarket wheels for our bolt pattern, though - which is why a lot of people swap to 5 lug - which can be done in a number of ways. There are...

    Flat Black Foxes?

Wow - thanks for the link. Yeah, I love the old hotrods\shine-runners. I'm even considering white-wall tires. I'm definately going to try to do it the right way.:nice:

    Evacuating A/C

My situation's a little more complicated since I'm in Germany. I'll try to find a place that'll do it for free, but if not - I'm going to take 90bluecoupe's suggestion. Thanks.

    Evacuating A/C

I'm getting rid of my A/C and don't want to pay a shop to evacuate the refrigerant. What's the best way to do it without getting refrigerant everywhere? *disclaimer* I will not discharge my A/C system with the information provided in this thread. It is for informational purposes only. Any...

    First Engine Build Advice Appreciated

Are you just doing this as a learning experience? You don't even have a car yet - why not just buy a car that already has a good engine in it?

turning the Dmobile into an 86?

Surely when you said "exact replica" you didn't mean you were swapping noses, did you? Please say it ain't so - there are too few four eyes around as it is. Why do people keep putting the newer facia on them. :bang: :(

    145 top speed

^ If they have, I hope they have a lot of suspension and brake mods. I start to get really nervous around 120. Especially if I hit a bump - 4 link rear + high speed + hitting a bump with only one rear tire = poop in pants. (I live in Germany, so driving over 100mph is pretty normal for me -...
