    Burning Out!

Hang on, wouldn't the smokiest startoff burnout (without holding the brake and trying to burn it up) occur with a good engine (what he has now) and the opposite gearing - like 3.00:1? Once the tyres have broken free, this gearing is going to get the highest wheel speed going on. I wouldn't...

WARNING: Not for the faint hearted...

Is that what that is? I thought it looked very convenient to have that attached when the wheel comes off. I hope whoever did the work is now going to do it properly and replace everything damaged free of charge, at a minimum.

GOT THE MASS-FLO SYSTEM TODAY!! YAHOO!!! DIAL UP WARNING

It should work pretty well, it's basically a 5.0 EFI system designed to look more like a carb'd system.

    70 tank in a 69....any hidden probs?

That should work fine, they're basically the same body. Unless my memory has it wrong you can swap a 70 tank straight into a 66 for increased capacity - it just comes up into the trunk.

    Clutch Pedal for '69 Mach?

Good luck on that, you can get them on EBAY - but even rusty pedals without the spring go for 300 or more (USD). I'm going to make my own when the time comes, from stainless too! I work as a CAD programmer for a laser cutter so I can cut it and know people to do bending, make the pivot shaft...

What tool do I use to cut my coils?

Ahh negative - the coil is now shorter, meaning it has less flex. Take a 1" bar 20 feet long and it's easy to bend it, cut it down to a 5 foot section and how easy is it to bend now? Your leverage on it is decreased. A coil is just a coiled piece of round bar in that the coil only provides a...

    Detroit Locker vs. TrueTrack?

It should give you better grip around the corner, without the on-off locking that a locker does, but if you overpower it it'll do the same thing that the locker does - spin both wheels.

    Really Nice Pics!!!

    Very nice!

    what color?

Hey!!! That statement cheapens white, and I'll be darned if I'll let you get away with it! Resale red is ok, because red is so overused like a 50 YO streetwalker that's been on the job far too long, but not white! No, I guess I see your point, and white modern grocery-getters look like...

    transmission mount

Check the NPD catalogue - I'm not sure if they have exactly what you're after, but I know they have poly trans mounts in there.

    what color?

Like a very dark maroon, but where the light highlights it you get a deep red/maroon. It's a very understated/sexy colour. I also think the same thing but with a blue hue instead of red would also be sexy. I also agree ttoney in that, on these cars, it's more about shape than colour, and the...

    raised white letter?

I kinda agree LMan - it's gotta be on a muscle car, but I think 67 (fastbacks especially) up to 70s Mustangs it can work for, it just works better as the years go up.

    Stainless or JetHot?

The ceramic coating reduces heat transferring into the metal of the header, and thus slows thermal fatigue, and dramatically decreases the rusting that the heat causes, as air is blocked from the surface of the metal. It keeps the exhaust gas hotter, which keeps the velocity up, potentially...

    Toploader 4 speed

1/16 to 1/8 is a lot of movement! That's 1.5 to over 3mm, that is a lot! I don't know a lot about gearboxes, but they should have tolerances similar to engines, and that is in the hundreds to thousandths of an inch.

    raised white letter?

I like them on muscle cars, works in with the theme... unless instead of Radial T/A it says fluffy bunny feet or somthing.

Bad news for me and my 73

Wow, that's a lot of damage! I'm glad you're ok, you could be better, but if it were me, I think I'd take what I got and be thankful! Mend well and keep the pics forever, that's a pretty impressive mess to walk out of.

    Hollow-stemmed valves

Yeh I can imagine it eating the valve away. It sounds like one of those race only frequent replacement things like Titanium valves (because they or the soft valve seats you use for them wear quick).
