    Machine Shops

an automotive machine shop will usually charge a preset price according to the work required. A list for head work might include: clean heads mill heads angle mill heads cc heads standard valve job competition 5-angle valve job R/R valve guides hone valve guides install seats port...

    T5 ID?

The numbers should be on the tag. You can take the numbers and plug them in HERE for a quick ID. I'd call G-Force and ask them about any parts you might need to reuse with the upgrade.

    Where to get Edelbrock Gasket's?

I don't know what the dimensions are on the Edelbrock gaskets, but here's some Fel-Pro numbers that may work: I know these head gaskets will work: FPP-10112 Lower intake: The RPM ports are 1.05" x 1.88". The FelPro (FPP-1250) ports are 1.2" x 2.0"). Exhaust: FPP-1415 ports are...

    Off for winter

I wouldn't spend much for an intake to put on stock heads. If you could pick up something used for a bargain price, go for it. As for the rockers: I've been shopping for a set of Cobra rockers on eBay and they've been going for $110-140 recently. A 1.7 rocker with your stock cam increases...

Help me set up and decide on my 347 combo

Glad to see I'm not the only one. My initial goal was 11's on street tires (not DR's or cheaters). Then somebody told me that I'd fit into DR...if I wanted to switch to an auto. So now I guess it's just going to be a crazy street car. The only thing left to play in is Wild Street...and I can...

Help me set up and decide on my 347 combo

Yep. Kooks. I must be the slowest in the world. I took the car off the road last July (2003) and it still isn't together. :bang: The worst part is, I've got everything I need except the TB and driveshaft. Been waiting to find a deal on the TB and I can't measure for the driveshaft with...

Help me set up and decide on my 347 combo

I thought so too when I bought them, but it's taking me so long to get everything together that I've been having time to second guess. Thanks for the vote of confidence Rick. I'm topping them with an TFS-R lower and a Reichard's box upper. Feeding with an 80mm TB and an 80mm MAF meter...

    RR & Cam Q's

Your cam determines the specifications for the springs. You can use whatever ratio RR you want. Most SBF cams are listed for use with 1.6 rockers. The only thing limiting the ratio is your piston-to-valve clearance. As you shop for cams, you can figure out the lift with different ratios by...

    Titanium pistons and push rods?

Subscribing: Just curious to know how your CNC program turns out. What's the expansion rate of Ti? What kind of rings will you need for this?

What clutch do you all recomend

Very nice. Does he have anything for 575+ rwhp? I've already got a SPEC stage 3 sitting here for assembly, but that doesn't mean I wouldn't dump it for something better. .

    WTF!? I cant believe this!

I hope your 'mods to come' aren't in the order that they're coming. The 3.73's should be at the top of your list. I'm not sure what exactly it is that you want help with  Go run him and see how it works out. I don't know how you drive or how he drives, but the only V6 I ever lost...

Help me set up and decide on my 347 combo

I think the 1262 is what I've got for between my R-lower & AFR 225's. The AFR intake ports are 1.4 x 2.25, but I'm going to try it without opening up the intake. 225's might be too much for a N/A 408  ...may end up with the Dart 210's. Time will tell.

Help me set up and decide on my 347 combo

Very nice. That's a much closer match than the 1250 on my TW heads.

Help me set up and decide on my 347 combo

Maybe I'm confused a little, too. Here's what I know: I've got a cobra lower that's portmatched to a FelPro-1250 intake gasket, which is 1.2 x 2.0. When the gasket's placed on the untouched TW heads I have here, there's a lot more aluminum showing than I like to see. As much as 1/8" in...

Help me set up and decide on my 347 combo

If you're going to use an R intake, you should seriously consider at least port matching the intake side of your heads. Untouched TW intake ports aren't even close to an R port.

guys that have removed their smog pump.

I think I was down to an 82.7 or somewhere in that area. I don't recall for sure.

    Should i change my MAF+TB?

You can look at the setup I had in OLD SlowGT below. I put a 65mm BBK on and couldn't notice any difference at all. I'd go for a larger MAF. When I put on the 73mm C&L, it was a very noticable difference. You don't need larger injectors yet. I think your money would be better spent on an...

    Tire installation using grease

I would've never tried grease or oil had I not seen this post. All I've ever seen used is liquid dish soap.

guys that have removed their smog pump.

Actually, it's a little more simple than that. Just buy a shorter belt and let everything sit where it is :nice: . The only reasons I can think of to remove it would be for weight reduction and because it's ugly down in there. Plus, you're ready if you ever have to pass a visual emissions test :D

Help me set up and decide on my 347 combo

Sounds like fun. The R series intake is a little much for your intentions. Check out the numbers at Trick Flow. I'd think maybe the Track Heat would be more suitable for this application. Smaller cross section means higher port velocity. The longer runners on the Street Heat would be an...
