    what to buy?

Heads are where the big power is, but you have to get a better intake first. We did heads on a car with a stock intake once ad it was less than 10HP back to back on the dyno. Couldn't get enough air through the stock intake to take advantage of the heads.

    Help...Can't figure this out(Clutch Problems)

That sounds like you have a quadrant designed for a firewall adjuster but are useing an adjustable cable instead. The hook is in a different position, thus the reason for the Steeda double hook quadrant.

    hot console

The tranmission and shifter rotate with engine torque, so a gate type shifter cant really be made tight enough to be functional. If you want to get rid of the slop and make the shifting more precise get a Steeda shifter.

A few things i need cleared up

The 23 tooth gears aren't usually too bad on the 5 speed cars. The Automatics chew them up pretty good. You have an 8 tooth drive gear in your '90. To install the 7 tooth gear that came in the Mustang though 1989 you have to take the tailhousing off of the transmission. Once the...

    Help...Can't figure this out(Clutch Problems)

Look closely at the rubber bushing where the cable goes throught he firewall. Sometimes they split and allow the cable to move without releasing the clutch. Have someone step on the clutch while you watch at the bellhousing. If the forward end of the threaded rod hits the end of the cable...

    tremec 3550/tko with steeda tri-ax Q's

The stop bolts on the Tremec 3550 and TKO need to be set farther away from the stick than on a T-5. Make sure the stop bolts are not hitting when you put it in gear. They should only touch if you lean on the lever HARD. Also, check to make sure the rubber tunnel boot is not getting caught...

    what to buy?

Intake manifold, larger MAF, K&N filter. Drag radials (or slicks) and a Tri-Ax shifter sho you can powershift will give you the biggest improvement at the drag strip, especially with the 4.10 gears you already have.

    hot console

Check the rubber seal around the shifter where it comes through the tunnel. If that is out of place it will let hot air up under the console ands make the whole thing hot.

    Piecing Together Suspension...Questions

They are good quality dependable parts. If you are looking for something to replace the worn out stock stuff and add more traction they will do the job. But if you want the best possible handling I would reccomend something with a little less bind than their all-poly, uniform-hardness bushing...

    Piecing Together Suspension...Questions

Whether or not you need the X2 balljoints has nothing to do with whether you use the Cobra control arms or not. It depends upon how far you lower the car. FDor anything lower than 3/4 inch the X2 will help, but it is not absolutely "mandatory" until about 1.5" lowering.

    Piecing Together Suspension...Questions

The Steeda upper arms use a new rubber bushing on the chassis end and intermediate polyurethane on the axle end. This improves control without causing the excessive bind like the all poly and hard-poly bushing other arms use. I also have soft-poly bushings for the axle. But the...

    Size tires for 17" wheels???

What year is the car? Different years have different size front fenders.

    please help

First, what year is your car? 94-95 tranmissions are different from 84-93. The 4 cyl trans is weaker, and has different gear ratios, but it will fit with the right pilot bearing. Take a caliper and measure the diameter of the tip of the input shaft. Count the number of splines on the...

    T-5Z Ordered.........

What year is the transmission you had before? If it had a 7 tooth drive gear in it you won't need to change anything. If it had an 8 tooth drive gear then you will need a new driven gear.

    GT40 vs. GT40P

GT40Ps are more efficient, meaning they use a smaller valve and still manage to flow about the same as a GT-40. The better velocity and revised spark plug position make for a cleaner burn and improved fuel economy. They are also cheap. Overall, they are a great head for performance and...

    those running an interceptor II

I run a copper tube from the manifold all the way to the boost sensor under the seat. I'll have to take the seat out, which means getting under the car to take the nuts off the subframe cross braces. Give me a couple of days and I can get to it.

    which rev limiter to use?

The fuel is not lean. It is OFF. There is a big difference. Off means no burning fuel at all. Lean is just a little less fuel than optimum, so the burn is hotter. The fuel cut off is much better and less likely to cause damage than the spark cutoff.

How did you get your drive shaft bolts off?

What he said. That is how I do it. Torque spec is over hundred ft/lbs for those bolts. Use blue loctite and tighten them TIGHT. Torqued properly, blue is all you need. But if you cant get good leverage to tighten them really tight you might want to use red loctite.
