    Clutch shot?

So the car doesn't move and the engine doesn't drop in RPM? Not even a little bit? One of the roll pins inside the transmission on the shift rail might be broken so the transmission is not going realy going into gear. You would still feel shift pattern because the guide pattern and detent...

Looking for info on the 95 Cobra R

Yeah, that's right. I forgot about that. We sent the filter to K&N so they could make one for us. When the '96 Mustang came out a year later it turned out to be the same filter. The radiator is not a direct bolt in. It takes different brackets and a degas bottle.

    Grinding Fourth

Oil is thicker when cold. Sometimes that makes the syncros grab better. What kind of fluid is in the transmission?

Looking for info on the 95 Cobra R

The cam was a flat tappet hydraulic, and it wasn't very good. Ford used it because it was already certified for emmisions and they figured racers would change them anyway. When we were racing the '95 R in the IMSA Street Stock Endurance Series, Ford submitted the offical parts list to IMSA...

    sticky clutch pedal.. please help

Yes, there is definitely a difference between some brands. I have tested bunches of them. The stock Ford ones are the best. Second best out of the ones I've tested are the Steeda's. Stay away from the ones that say "made in Israel" and "Made in Italy." Check the alignment of the clutch...

    160 thermo....increased power????

160 degree thermostat is a trick from back in the early days of EEC IV. The 86-88 speed density cars didn't have a mass air meter to tell the computer that more air was flowing into the engine when you ported the intake & heads, installed headers, etc. So the cars would run lean at WOT. The...

    performance of cat back system?

When the car is near-stock, just the mufflers works pretty good. But once you sart doing a lot of other modifications to increase the horsepower you will benefit from the increased flow from full mandrel-bent 2.5" pipes.

    Tri-ax problem

Most likely it is a transmission or clutch problem. If the clutch is not releasing all the way it will be hard to put into gear and "notchy" feeling. If the clutch is not fully releasing, it will wear the syncros and cause the transmission to get worse over time.

    Fuel Filter?

It's not hard. It is just a little tedious trying to get the plastic clips off that hold the fuel lines to the filter. Check to see if the new filter you buy comes with new clips. Then you don't have to worry about breaking them. All you need is a jack and jackstnds to work under the car...

    Kirban Short Shifters

Yeah, they were popular a while back. I've had them apart to inspect. Technically the Tri-Ax has taller pivot ratio, which gives it a shorter throw than the Kirban if the same length handle is used. But the Kirban handle is shorter so the throw lengths are about the same. If you put the...

Rear end "floating" w/ slicks on 1/4 mile?

Yeah, it will feel like it is floating. The important thing is to just be smooth and steady with the steering wheel. Don’t make sudden corrections trying to chase the rear end. Just drive straight and let it float. You pump up the front tires mostly to reduce rolling resistance for quicker...

Would a King Cobra clutch be good enough for my car?

Spec stage II is no more likely to break the transmission than a centerforce dual friction. It is tht stage 4 and 5 that are really hard on transmissions because they don't have a sprung hub. Like the others are saying, sticky tires and driving style have a lot to do with how long a T-5...

PLEASE HELP just installed UPR coil overs and they rub on 245 tire!

The cam bolt has an offset lobe, like a camshaft. You replace the one of the strut/spindle bolts with the cam bolt and rotate the bolt so the spindle tilts out away from the strut, giving you more tire clearance. Then you use caster camber plates to tilt the whole strut back in towards the...
