    need help

C9OE-6015-B is the casting number you're looking for They had enough metal on bearing saddles 2,3, and 4 to machine it for 4 bolt mains Or you can find a "ford racing" block that is already machined for it...but you won't find them at a junkyard

car won't start when its warm sometimes?????

If you go the DIY route and just buy the PIP sensor to install yourself...make sure you get a motorcraft PIP sensor...I'd stay away from silverbrand or any other cheaper sensors. If I were you I'd just buy a distributor and be done with it

JT, this may be a long shot but try taking you chip out and see if the car runs any better. It's free and simple. I'm sure you've already checked all your grounds and I know your grounds are top notch anyhow... I might have a spare CCRM I can send your way if you're interested, just pay the...

You'll do fine man, just take your time, measure backlash, and check your pattern. Once you get one under your belt there's nothing to 'em. Good luck

Gears. Can I install or should I take to pro?

I was referring to the tool that has the machined tube that is bolted in the carriers location. Any tool that's been machined for measuring is gonna cost a lotttt of cash... I have a Rotunda and ended up paying somewhere around 1200 for the set. Granted, it will do 7.5, 8.8, Dana 28, etc...if...

Gears. Can I install or should I take to pro?

Generally gear installs will run you around 600-800 dollars. Most shops are gonna charge you around 5 hours labor. Factor in the price of the gear, and the price of the bearings, and the price of fluid and friction modifier......not quite that cheap. A professional shop will also have a pinion...

haha, thanks guys I'm going into aircraft mechanics. Nothing is set in stone yet...but I know I'm doing something in aviation. My score on the ASVAB as well as my mechanical background would assure me the MOS. They have 5 spots left for it, too. I pay my own insurance now so I definitely...

    Oil weight idea

good ol' STP... throw some Stay Together Please in there and it might quiet it down. No telling til you try it though. Another thing you could try doing is running some ATF or mystery oil through it then change the oil out. Never know. As a side note, we once had a car that came in the...

just finished fluidyne and rpm intake install; now car starts but shuts right off

That really sounds like a mass air meter or a huge vac leak. The fact you hear whirring really makes me think vac leak somewhere.... There's gotta be something your missing somewhere.....it's prolly something stupid....it always is

just finished fluidyne and rpm intake install; now car starts but shuts right off

Good advice...check around your valve covers especially. A lot ot times wires will find their way between the valve cover and block.

just finished fluidyne and rpm intake install; now car starts but shuts right off

make sure you didn't stab it wrong. Take it out, turn the engine over by hand til it's at tdc on the compression stroke. Put your finger over the spark plug hole and you should feel a lot of air rushing past your finger. Wait til it gets to the point where you don't feel anymore air coming out...

just finished fluidyne and rpm intake install; now car starts but shuts right off

could be a couple of things. Check to make sure your pcv hose is hooked up, checked IAC, ACT, MAF, and TPS sensors and make sure they're plugged in. Check to make sure your bolts are tightened down on the intake. check your timing* and wire config
