New Valve Springs Are These Good?

I'm gettin valve float around 5,500 rpm. not real sure what cam I have I do know it's not stock. I was wondering if these would be a good upgrade with stock heads? Which would be the best? http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?autofilter=1&part=CRN%2D44308%2D1&N=0&autoview=sku...

    Need some valve spring advice.

Like I said though I'm not positive it's a stage II cam and neither was the last owner. I thought about getting the TFS valve spring upgrade kit from Summit. http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?autofilter=1&part=TFS%2D2500100&N=115&autoview=sku

    Need some valve spring advice.

I have what I'm told is a TFS StageII cam with Cobra 1.6 roller rockers on stock heads. I believe it has stock valve springs cause I'm gettin valve float pretty bad at 5,500 rpm. What would be a good upgrade spring for this and what locks and retainors am I gonna need? Thanks

Popping In Exhaust Around 5,500 RPM

I see that TFS has a set of springs for stock heads in Summit for about $100. Not really gonna worry about it for a little while I don't really run my car that high often, but knowin the problem was there and not knowin what it was was buggin me. Hate to have to change those things kinda of a...

    Removing Windshield Molding, Help!

I pulled the corners straight out from the windshield they're just held on on the corners by the ones that run up the a pillars. Then I took a screwdriver hooked it in the end top point of screwdriver facin the sky just to have something for a handle to pull the trim and slid it from the...

    Removing Windshield Molding, Help!

I'm not sure what the tool is, but I just popped both corners loose at the top and hooked a screwdriver under the edge on the end and slid the molding off everytime I got it slid to where the end was at a clip I would just pop it off by hand and slide a little more. Then when you're done slide...

Popping In Exhaust Around 5,500 RPM

I was told the cam was a stage 2 TrickFlow, but that might not be right. I do know it's not stock. I believe the springs are stock.

Popping In Exhaust Around 5,500 RPM

It doesn't go away on my car 5,500 rpm everytime. A better description of the sound would be like a handfull of gravel flying through the exhaust. I'm startin to think my cam is too much for the stock valve springs. Plugs look fine, just changed them and old ones looked good too.

Safe way ofcleaning gaskets of heads before header install

Most of the time the gaskets will just come right off from my experiences. If you get a little dirt in the exhaust port it'll all come out once you start the car no big deal.

WHAT DOES VALVE FLOAT SOUND LIKE?

It's supposed to have 1.6 Cobra roller rockers in it, but I doubt the springs are aftermarket. I'm hoping that's all it is. Still don't really wanna screw around with changin the springs though.

WHAT DOES VALVE FLOAT SOUND LIKE?

I'm thinkin if it isn't the cap and rotor or ignition module that i'm gonna have to put tighter valve springs on it. The best description I can think of for the sound is like a handful of gravel flyin through the exhaust or the sound a handful of gravel would make if you threw it at a metal...

WHAT DOES VALVE FLOAT SOUND LIKE?

I'm pretty sure it's not detonation. I can put it in 3rd or 4th at low rpms and nail the gas and get no detonation. I'm guessin if it was gonna do it it would come on before 5,500 rpms. it is the same 1st thru 3rd haven't tried in 4th or 5th. Could it be the C&L meter?

WHAT DOES VALVE FLOAT SOUND LIKE?

No still have the stock tach. I figure it's probably off some, but I've determined the sound I'm hearing isn't valve float because I knew exactly what Roland was talkin about as soon as I read it from other Mustangs I've had. I figure if i was runnin rpm's too high I would get valve float not a...

WHAT DOES VALVE FLOAT SOUND LIKE?

I know exactly what you're talkin about Roland. I've heard that and thought that's what it was. My car is throwing a handfull of gravel at a piece of aluminum sheeting or somethin around 5,500 or a popping sound. Sounds like it's coming from the exhaust.

WHAT DOES VALVE FLOAT SOUND LIKE?

I have a popping sound around 5,500 rpm. I'm thinking with the cam I have could be valve float. I believe it still has the stock springs with what I was told was a stage two TrickFlow cam. I'm not positive it's stage two, but I know it's not stock.
