    Old Ford Owner...New to Mustang

Muscle Mustangs tested the stick & the auto & found only a few 10ths difference in the quarter. I drive this car every day, year round, and a 5-speed w/a cam & a centerforce clutch as I had in my 2previous Mustangs is not enjoyable in Rt 95 bumper-to-bumper traffic. These autos are electronic...

Any advice for a new buyer?

I'm old enough to be your grandpa, & one thing I've learned in a lifetime of fast cars & that is there's always going to be someone faster. I bought the new V8 GT 'vert & it is a sophisticated machine---My 1995 5 liter 'vert was faster, but that was because I made it so.

    More "Dumbing Down"--rear view mirror

As to the interior lights---it was me who was "dumb." The instrument brightening wheel in the dash turns them on when turned to its limits---my bad. I would like to ditch the rear view mirror for a conventional one, tho. What's the "menu" & how do I access it---my dealer told me next to nothing...

    More "Dumbing Down"--rear view mirror

Lots of gadgetry in my new 'vert---some welcome, others maddening. Among the latter, the automatically dimming rear view mirror, which decides for you when the lights behind you are too bright. Ineffective:notnice: And the interior lights come on when you drive at night---for the life of...

    It's Here!!!!!!

I guess there's an advantage in ordering thru Tasca---even tho I got no real bargain price. They're the East Coast site for refitting Mustangs w/the Shelby package & have loads of them being done over. My Mustang came in a week earlier than was predicted.:D Picking it up this afternoon.

    Warranty Jeopardy with Mods?

What kind of mods can be done w/out jeopardizing the factory warrantee? Can bolt-on mods be done NOT by dealers?

Placed my order. Can I track its progress?

That's not exactly it.What you do is call your dealer---who will have the factory assigned 17-digit VIN on hand. I talked to the salesman who read it to me over the phone. Then call Ford's 800 number. Duck all the recorded messages till you get a live human on the line & read her the VIN number...

    Aftermarket Exhaust Drone?????

With equal length headers, X-pipe, hi-flow cats, 21/2" pipes & Borla cat-back----my 95 'vert has a really annoying cabin-filling drone at 2000 rpms. I see where the newer Mustangs have their mufflers at the back, & I'm wondering if the aftermarket exhaust drone is still there--OR---if the...

    Affordable Rims & tire sizes

My 2010 is on order w/19" rims. 5 weeks away from delivery! This'll be a daily driver, & it is my practise to fit winter tires & rims during the winter season---roughly December thru the end of March, here in RI. 19" tires are way overpriced---what 17"s & 18"s would fit?---and what is a good...

Is the new Vert trunk smaller now?

I can just about fit my golf clubs in my SN95. The pinched in trunk of the current vert looks even smaller that the previous years---is it?

    2010 1/4 mile times!

I'm shopping for a 2010, & I've heard that the the automatics are almost as quick as the sticks. Is this so? I've always had stick shifts, but I'm tempted to go automatic if the two are almost the same. Also, are the factory performance upgrades available on the autos?
