Clarkson rants on Americans and Mustang

Maybe but look at the SIZE of the problems. I think that replacing the rear pinion gear may only count as one problem but would you really expect such a problem on a Toyota? Same for the fuel pump. It also seems that the Corvette C6 suffered issues with fuel gauges, the roof tearing off and so...

Changed Battery now shaker 500 dead

No idea. My battery has been disconnected at least ten times and never had a problem. Sure you haven't knocked a wire off the battery itself?

My "NEW" Stang Complete! What do you think!?

It's clearly NOT a Shelby GT500. It's way too light. Add 500lbs of dead weight and you'll be close. Don't go adding a supercharger or you'll just embarass the real GT500s and it won't do to have a car that's faster than a GT500, it has to be juuuuust right. Like some say, it's your car, do what...

    Email to FoMoCo...

I just don't get how they're allowed to do it. Why don't Ford just auction off the cars and make a profit for once in their lives? Cut off the dealers and see if they whine as loud as an 06 axle.

Clarkson rants on Americans and Mustang

Actually, it's not his first boo-boo concerning American cars, he reviewed the C6 and said it had a 5.7. Then again, one of the motoring mags over here said the C6 had a live rear axle! The trouble with the UK is it feeds on prejudice against American cars (deservedly so in many cases) which...

Help us GT500 MSRP Buyers out...

No. Discounts are not only readily available, they're expected on most models. Only the high demand models make book price. Coupled to that, on certain models you get offers - Vauxhall are currently offering zero deposit, 0% finance and free insurance for example. In general, you pay top book ie...

What are you paying for a new GT500?

Well from a UK market where we only ever pay MSRP or less, this is hilarious. FFS, it's just a Mustang, not a bloody Ferrari. The Vette weighs 3/4 of a GT500 and you could supercharge it as well for the premiums I'm seeing. Still, it's good to see how the "want it now" people mess it up for the...

    Any GT500 problems yet?

Yeah, it's a problem with the passive safety system. Apparently, even when standing still, the sticker price can unexpectedly inflate without warning, causing serious injury to your wallet and your intellectual capacity to make an intelligent decision.

Help us GT500 MSRP Buyers out...

The market is created by the buyers. Over here in the UK, you just won't ever find anybody willing to pay over the list price except for maybe the really new exotic stuff but even then, it's speculators who have put their name on the waiting list and are cashing in on high demand. Many of the...

    Screw the dealerships...

Every person who pays ANY mark-up is part and parcel of what is wrong with the US "money-grabbing mark-up" system. If NOBODY paid it then the prices would be the manufacturer's price. So these people are to blame for fuelling the stupidity of the system but at the end of the day, it's...

Rear end vibration between 25-30 mph

Check the wheel lugs are tight. Other than that, see if they've removed the panhard bar and not done it up or something like that. Is the exhaust tight - the hanger bolts can be hard to get to with the stock mufflers.

    Locks won't lock correctly!?!:bang:

On my Mazda 5 (which uses Mustang handles LOL), if the boot isn't shut properly or the contacts are obstructed by a mat or something, the car won't lock. So check all the shuts and contacts are clear.

BEST FITTING AND SOUNDING EXHAUST~PLEASE HELP RECOMMENDING ONE~

Corsas fit nicely with a bit of jiggling but if you're like me, you'll find they're too quiet which is why I'm taking mine off. I'm having some custom made so I can get the sound and the fit. The 60's cars had lumpier cams not possible now without tipping fuel over the cats so that sound is...

    Gt Automatic times

I think it's all theoretical. The GT ran 13.8 in the quarter. when I had my LS1 Z28, I made a load of modifications and gained 8/100ths of a second over the quarter. Traction is always an issue and believe me, even a tenth of a second is hard to get. From the mods you've made, you probably won't...

    S197 strut tower brace install

Looks good. I may swop out my Steeda billet STB which is floppy and a load of rubbish to be honest. Plus my Tokico D-Spec shocks mean the strut top covers on the Steeda don't fit. Waste of money.

    vibration

I used to get a slight vibe but nothing serious. Have you taken the disc brake retainer clips off the wheel studs. Some have said they affect balance but I think it more likely the wheel doesn't sit quite right. Other than that, rebalance the wheels front and back.

    Shifters which one

No, I'm not BigFil but I know the guy you mean. He's got a mean 05. Yes, the shift is stiff but it's loosening up with use (or am I getting used to it) and is much better now (Car has 5600 miles on it and the shifter's done about 1000 of those). Whatever, it's a million miles better than my old...

    Shifters which one

I've got a Hurst shifter (chrome stem/white ball) on my 2005. It's taller than the stock one but eliminates all the rubbery feel of the stock shifter and the shifts are much shorter and crisp. Recommended. No zizzes or rattles at all. Here's my install which is pretty easy...
