why pi heads ? are there better ones?

Soomething to remember is that NPI heads flow quite well compared to PI heads. Ported NPI outflow stock PI heads. You have NPI heads that could use a good porting. The real flow advantage is from the intake. Do a search on this website and see the results from just changing the intake...

    Accurate Gauges?

Does anyone make a accurate guage cluster for 99+ Mustangs. Besides the gas guage working well, the oil pressure, battery, and temp need to read a more appropriate reading. Fro example: I'd like to know what temp the engine is running at instead of NORMAL. Same for the oil pressure. Any...

    4.6 stock timing???

The stock setting is suppossed to be 10 degrees. I installed the Steeda pullies and T/A together and the difference was very noticeable. Easy 10rwhp and maybe 15rwtq. I run 13 degrees of timing and use 87 octane and I'm getting away with it. No knocking yet.

Disgusted with SHM PI Swap kit

What ever happened to SHM? At one point, they were the premier mod motor go to guys. Today, they've been reduced to crap. I've been hearing so many bads things about the place lately, I won't spend anymore of my money there. If you spent 2K there, send it back for a refund. Don't take no...

    need factory computer chip

These cars don not come with a factory chip, just the connection that allows a chip to be installed. The connection is always covered with a sapping substance that needs to be scrapped off before installing a chip. In other words, pull the chip and your back to factory settings.

I replied to it. I hope you received it cause I'm not sure if I did this right. For the price you quoted me, I'll take it.

Do you own a Steeda Timing set?

Unless the programmer is modified, it can only advance timing 2 degrees.

I'm interested, how much do you want for it? Will it fit a 2000GT, there may be some differences.

    CAI prefrences

BINGO, thats the answer and I agree 100% since I too have seen the same results. Once the car is moving, barely if any difference. One advance to the non-fender type is at the track. Pull the headlight and get a ram air effect. That works and its well known.

Do you own a Steeda Timing set?

The install is easy if its a 5-speed, more difficult for a auto since you have to go under the car and hold the flywheel from turning when talking off the crank bolt. You will also need a gear puller to take off the crank pulley. Its not like the old 5L where you could give it a light tap and it...

    Timing adjuster

I installed the Steeda pullies and TA and as a combination they work extremely well. With 14 degrees of timing, the car has alot more low end pull. If I could take a guess, I'd say a easy 10rwhp and 15rwtq. As a side note: A pwr programmer only allows 2 degrees of advance. With the Steeda TA...

What octane gas do you use?

If your car is not knocking with 87 octane, then you don't need anything higher. Higher octane will not give u better performance unless you bump up your timing. It's a waste of money. I have a steeda timing adjuster set at 12.5 degrees and use 87 octane and had no pinging. It pinged at 14...

Modular VS Pushrod? Where can I get details

One of the reasons there have been no aftermarket heads is because the heads on a mod motor are really quite good. I wrote a letter to Edelbrock requesting a aftermarket head and that's what they told me. However, if someone were to make a 2v head with great flow numbers and a good price they...

does any of your cars feel good some days,

That's true about the resistor, I mostly keep the resistor in my ashtray and use it when needed for, as you mentioned, short bursts like at the track. As for gas: I was referring to the comment of using a higher octane gas to recapture that sluggish performance. Higher octane gasoline will...

Modular VS Pushrod? Where can I get details

For now, your on the right website because there is 5.0L info and Mod motor info. There are more aftermarket parts for the 5L engine so some people will make judgment based on that alone. Example, fully ported mod heads flow as well as most aftermarket 5L heads. In the end you will find some...

does any of your cars feel good some days,

Thank you, I know the resistor mod works cause I do it all the time. When I don't use it, I can run 87 octane and 13.5 degrees of timing with no knocking. So I know timing is being pulled from somewhere. I put the resistor back in, get full timing and she starts pinging. A good SCT tune can...
