    drivers race i've layed waste to one before, it was close though. 300lbs makes enough of a difference. if both cars are auto the camaro will kill the stang.

    If you don't care about performance too much then get 99+ a v6 5spd hard top like teggie said. if you think the speed bug will bite you, then definately get a 99+ GT. just don't get that v8 ego so many people have hehe. you never know when that sleeper I4 puts you in your place for talking...

    the 96+ and 99+ v6 stangs still use the T5 transmission. the 99+ GT's use a tremec 3650 ------------------------------- A t5 from a v6 will work with a 302 with some modifications. but it will not simply bolt right up. bell housing is different, and a few other things. I cannot remember.
