    Here's a great talk thread!

I did that on purpose just to make sure you were paying attention. :D I really wish these message boards had a spell checker built into them though...I'm a glutton for typos, and almost ALWAYS have to go back and edit a post to correct errors.

    Here's a great talk thread!

To me, post count = pissing contest. Some people post 25 times a day, while others mostly just read, and post once or twice a day if that. Sorry, but post count != knowledge. For me, I take people much more seriously if they use correct grammar/punctuation (I'm not talking about typos...

I'll post a pic of mine when I get home from work...or sometime this weekend ;)

Parts came today! yay! (pics) Got a question or two.

Anyways... I got the driver's side header in tonight, which took me all of 15 minutes. What a peice of cake compared to the passenger side. All I had to do was unbolt the steering linkage and insert the header from underneath....didn't even have to jack up the engine! I'm sure the fact that...

Crap..I was afraid of that. They had some autolites but they were also double platinums. The guy at the store told me that the stock ones are plats....figures... I knew that guy was full of **** when I overheard him tell another customer that a "power programmer" would net 70hp from a 99+...

So then Why did BBK send oval ones  Also, the oval ones seem to match the shape of the port on the header better, whereas the stock ones seem to cut off a tiny bit of the port. Are the headers just oversized a little in order to accomodate some aftermarket heads or something?

    Installed New Bullitt's Today!!!

I have 17x9.5" Torw thrust II's with 275 tires on my fronts, and I get grinding as well. It is the lower A-arm grinding on the metal lip pf the rim for me. I have been wondering if getting tubular a-arms would solve hte problem. PS...my car is not lowered at all, and I'm afraid lowering it...

Parts came today! yay! (pics) Got a question or two.

I checked into it, and the Fel-pro 1415 is a rectangular port gasket (like the stock one). The BBK gaskets are more of an oval port...sooo...should I look for a good oval port one...I found on on Summit.com form Mr.Gasket.

Also, I picked up some Bosch platinum 2 plugs. Are they any good? they were $3.99 a pop, so I figured they'd be better than the stock ones. But they have a weird electrode...actually there is 2 electrodes instead of just one. I guess I don't have t gap these plugs?

Parts came today! yay! (pics) Got a question or two.

What exactly is so bad about the BBK gaskets? I know they seem flimsier than the stock ones (there is no metal in BBK's that I can tell, whereas the stock ones seem like they are two layers of gasket material sandwiching a thin peice of sheetmetal). So what does having a flimsy gasket mean for...

Parts came today! yay! (pics) Got a question or two.

Ok, I got the passenger side header in. had to move the alternator, and jack the engine a little bit to squeeze it in there. Now the bottom side of the header is all scratched up too. :( I tried the bubble wrap trick, but it just wasn't happening, oh well..I will never see it, so out of...

Parts came today! yay! (pics) Got a question or two.

oh man... I hope I don't become the next star-wars kid  So basically the gaskets are the same dimensions as stock (I'm at work so I can't compare)...I thought maybe tey had larger port sizes or something for the better headers...but I guess that don't really make sense. Soo, you...

So...where do I get good gaskets? Does any parts store carry them, or are they more of a specialty/aftermarket item?

Yeah...I realized that after I stuck a stock bolt in to compare length. The allen head bolt is good idea though. :nice:

Parts came today! yay! (pics) Got a question or two.

I just realized....how is the dipstick tube and air-pump tubing going to go back on? Originally there was a stud that suck out far enought to put the bracket on and then a nut....the BBK bolts don't have that.

tee heee! shhhhhhhhh ;) Im not sure...they sent me one when I bought a Ford Racing Parts catalog (for $5) a couple years ago. Anywhoo...the hat only costs like $3.99 on their website.

Parts came today! yay! (pics) Got a question or two.

I was thinking about using lockwashers, but after seeing how short the bolts are, I don't know if I can spare another 1/16". I was also thinking about going to a hardware store and picking up some stock-length bolts, but with the smaller heads on them so they will work with the BBK headers...

Question about buying a 94/95 GT

I would say a 5.0L is one of the most dependable performance cars you can buy. My parrents had a 5.0L powered 92' Cougar, annd it went way past 100k with no problems at all. There are plenty of mustang guys that have a 150k plus mile car than they beat the piss out of, and the engine just...
