Yeah. I’m ashamed to admit what the clutch and flywheel cost. It was absurd. But I knew the current setup was slipping and adding more horsepower just made it a necessity. A whippled coyote would make more power and have more aftermarket support. But I committed to this terminator swap 8 years...

Second friction disc. Second clutch disc. And bolted and torqued to flywheel. Next up is re-shimming the 26 spline input shaft. It’s slowly gotten louder since I put it in a few years ago. After that some wiring delete and start installing bits and pieces in the engine bay. Then...

Next up is some drivetrain mods while it’s out of the car. First up was the clutch. The current clutch is a centerforce dual friction and even through it hasn’t been installed very long. It’s already slipped and smelled a few times. Since I’m adding more power with the Whipple, now was the...

Took today off to make this a four day weekend (Mondays a holiday for me). Made some significant progress. Got the the old windshield out. Good thing I wasn’t trying to reuse it. It cracked a few times while using the removal tool. Got the pinch weld cleaned up and test fit the new...

JCBeaver's 1993 GT Coyote Swap "The Never-Ending Project"

No problem. Didn't want to see you potentially ruin that engine. Project's looking good. You saved yourself a headache keeping the swaybar mounts. I had to cut them off for my terminator swap. Ended up using a 96-98 sway bar and mounts. Lost some turning radius due to the longer swaybar.

JCBeaver's 1993 GT Coyote Swap "The Never-Ending Project"

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it appears you swapped the lines at the remote filter mount. If so, you might have reversed the direction of flow through the oil filter. Oil will not flow through the filter backwards. You will destroy the engine if run this way. A co-worker a mine ruined a...

I know it’s been said before, but your attention to detail really shows that the small things add up. Kudos for an outstanding job. Your last post made make me chuckle. I thinks that’s a constant thought all gear heads have, hopefully the next phase is cheaper!

Thanks! Thanks. That’s what started my whole venture into painting. Had a 2000 tahoe with 200k miles. Mechanically, it was perfect. The paint was awful. Got a quote from a friends shop for $4300!!! The truck wasn’t even worth that. I said I’ll try to paint it myself for that price. Got a...

I knew the clear had some runs in it but didn’t know how bad till I started wet sanding yesterday. I put it on so thick, unbeknownst to me, that I had to basically block the whole car. What a pain! This is my first time using Axalta (DuPont) clear. It continues to flow out after it’s on the...

Thanks! It's been quite the wait. Between painting my friends car and finishing the man cave, this car has been off the road for 15 months. Can't wait to start driving it again.

Some pics after the clear dried. You can see how the glow is fading. At this point, I wanted to find out if the body matched the hood and fender extension I painted a few weeks ago. Perfect match! This also will give you idea of what the color will look like. Next up. Take care of a...

What a long weekend! Spent 6hr prepping and removing the last bit of parts on Saturday. Then after 4 hrs of masking Sunday morning. It was finally time to spray. First coat of base was going on nicely, then my baggy paint suit touched the rear quarter when I was reaching up and over to...

Engine bay just about stripped. Only a couple items left. Then degrease, prep and mask. Got two good weather days coming up, Sunday and Monday. Hoping to paint the shell. I’ll take off work if I have too. This by far is the biggest hurdle. Once it’s done I can reassemble and the...

Thanks. Too bad most of it is unseen once installed. I'm not sure. Bad memories from the last time this car was there. I'll decide which car goes as it gets closer.

Engine, transmission and k-member are out. I forgot that some things on this setup are difficult to access. It really is 10lbs in a 5lb bag. But all in all it wasn’t bad. About 6 hrs start to finish. Now time to strip the engine bay. Also to going to open up the harness and remove all...
