    Another E-fan install ?'s thread

My '84 had a flex fan on it when I bought it. Lynn had one on her Capri when I met her. Both fans are now gone and in the trash, and not missed at all by either of us. I HATE flex fans. :notnice: They're a royal PITA to work around because you can't rotate them slightly to access the bolts...

    Throwing Away Some Money

Don't waste your money on the Accel TFI module and fancy-schmancy coil. You won't gain anything from them, period. The OEM stuff works fine for 99% of folks ... unless you simply MUST buy "performance" EVERYTHING just to have all those name-brand parts underhood.

    Taillight...help me decide (pic)

Keep the cheesegraters on there, and keep 'em the way they are. Makes 'em look tinted without actually losing any light output. I never cared for those painted-to-match tail lenses, myself.

    Another E-fan install ?'s thread

On my '89, no; on my '84, yes. The A/C was already deleted on my '89 before I got it and it already had a (very poorly rigged) electric fan in place, so I just beefed up what was already there by upgrading the alternator to a 3G, throwing in a bigger radiator (old one was leaking), and putting...

    Another E-fan install ?'s thread

FWIW, I have a 16" universal fan (I think it's a Hayden - got it at Checker) in my '89 that I've been running for like 5 years now without any issues. I have it hooked up to run full-time. Between that and the 3-core radiator and 180* T-stat I also have in there, I've never once seen the...

    C4 vs. C6

Damn ... if that's true, then that means my '84 only has about ... 110.5 RWHP.

power estimates with basic bolt ons

You pretty much need to take off the heads to poke in the cam, anyhow, so why not throw different heads on while you're at it? At least some ported E7's, if nothing else?

    pic of the hatch

"Retarted?" :D Even with the white HVAC overlay, that's still a damned fine lookin' hatch you got there, guy, inside and out. :nice: EDIT: Am I the only Fox owner with a 5-speed that actually uses the handbrake when parking?

83 flat tappet to modern roller conversion

^--- Indeed. For what you'd spend on a conversion kit, you could easily buy an '87+ long block or short block assembly off Craigslist or wherever else and still have money left over to bolt on some goodies. Flat tappet motors aren't exactly a bad thing, in and of themselves, as I've seen them...

    pics of black ponys??

Shave the 5.0 badges and lose the stickers, and that would be some sinister-looking hotness right there.

Flaming River Manual Rack - Need Tie Rod Inners!!!

Have you already tried contacting Flaming River or Summit Racing? If they don't sell replacements, themselves, at least they might be able to point you in the direction of someone who does, along with the correct part number(s).

Mustang Timing. Where should it be set at?

I think what he's saying is that if you're running 10* BTDC when you're NOT spraying and you're PULLING (as in retarding the advance) 4* of timing out from that when you do spray (thus meaning you're running at only 6* BTDC ... which would make the car run poorly, I would think), maybe you...

    MAC cat back

I'm surprised nobody ever uses Hooker Maximum Flow mufflers on Mustangs. I've had them on three different cars and always loved the sound, but I decided to try something different when I scored my Pypes Violators a few years back and I'm kinda attached to 'em. Maybe whenever they rust out (I got...

I switched back to regular Sweet Blue yesterday to give it another try. So far, no more pop-up ads. :nice:

Damn ... sorry, I was slow to check these out. LOVE the satin-black rat rods - simple, dirty, and sinister-looking.

    Low Oil Pressure,Rebuild...

The low oil pressure is still probably a consequence of the car running hot (oil loses viscosity as it heats up) and/or possibly a faulty oil pressure gauge sending unit. Really need to just spend a few bucks on a cheap gauge and mount it up under-hood just for testing purposes, if not a...

    MAC cat back

Last I saw, he scored a nice 5-speed hatch. I think it would help if Ryan would update his avatar and sig. :D
