    tranny tunnel clearence

Both the T5 bell and SROD bell fit fine as long as you're not running headers. The clutch lever location is rotated further towards the top so headers have a habit of getting in the way of hooking up the clutch. My Hooker headers are significantly modified to work with the SROD bell.

1984 Thunderbird 2.3L what will it take to hit 300rwhp?

In theory this may be true, but in actual practice you'll find you won't even notice what's lost from gutting the upper. I didn't get a direct comparison with mine, but my new engine has better OFF boost response and power than my old engine and it has a gutted upper. (I'm pretty sure the...

76 Mustang II 5 lug conversion?

Especially consider the fact that most people that do a 5-lug conversion end up running a wheel/tire combo that's more than 23.5" diameter. It takes a bigger rotor to stop the larger diameter tires.

    Cop wheels

Those actually look the same as the one's I've got...I just don't have the center caps or beauty rings. http://www.a351must2.atfreeweb.com/74Coupe/images/rightrearwheel.JPG don't know if you got my email or not...I'll PM you with my phone number, otherwise any upcoming weekend is good for me.

    Whats your gas mileage??

Since most of mine have been daily driven at one time or another, I've kept track of the gas mileage....I only kept track on long trips with the '74. '74 Coupe V6, stock ,4spd, 3.55 gears...16 - 18mpg. same '74 w/ stock 2bbl 302, C4, 3.55 gears...16mpg freeway (unknown in town) same '74 w/...

Question on the Hooker 351w swap headers

yes, two tubes on each side stay in the engine compartment and the other two tubes go through the fenderwells. The huge hole on my passenger side was there from removing what little was left of the battery box after 20 years and at least one exploding battery. Here's a fenderwell shot, but...

Question on the Hooker 351w swap headers

I first intalled my set in my '74 with basic wrenches/sockets plus a dremel and a floor jack...and the engine still in the car. I had it a little easier in the '74 since it had a C4 auto and manual brakes. Everything fit "OK" considering the minimal tools I had. ~18 hours of actual time spent...

    Cop wheels

I have a set of 4 - 15X7 SP wheels (the 4-lug steel cop wheels you're looking for)...Snohomish...maybe we'll have to meet again before summer. I don't use them anymore, but they were on my old '74. http://www.a351must2.atfreeweb.com/74Coupe/images/black2.jpg

    Quéstions

just to stay a little off topic here, I've never found low rpms to help mpg at all w/ my 351W. When I switched from the C4 auto w/ 2.73 gears to a Tremec 5spd w/ 3.08 gears, I went from 13mpg freeway to 13mpg freeway. Same difference after switching to 3.70 rear gears.

Rims and tires on the ll

What kinda funny link was that sleeper? ... try: http://forums.stangnet.com/showthread.php?t=395307 Mine came from a guy on ebay, but they were drop shipped from a company in Canada for a significantly lower price than what I paid :( ... I can't seem to find the name of the place though. v...

    Gas Mileage with a Turbo

20-21mpg must be the average average...my 2.3L turbo always got me around 20mpg and my 2.0L turbo Eclipse gets me around 20mpg. It's very dependant on the right foot. My Eclipse will get 15mpg or less if it is only used around town, and gets >25mpg if used only on the freeway. The 2.3L Turbo...

Wire harness and Fuse box with EFI

The turbo engine's wiring is the same as what was just said. The EFI wiring harness is it's own entity except for '87-'88 TC. The EFI harness has it's own +12V supply and grounds. It's wired in all by itself on the passenger side of the car and you just need to tie in Start, Run, Tach, and...

Rims and tires on the ll

Could always refer to the wheels/tires thread at the top of the forum, or to: http://forums.stangnet.com/showthread.php?t=367072&highlight=wheels Really, I don't know anything about getting width in the rear, just 15, 16, and 17" wheels. Widest I've gone is a 245 on 8" wide rims. I know...

    Dreaming At Mach 1

go Turbo Four for your daily driver. They get 4-cyl gas mileage on long commutes, V8 gas mileage in town, and will keep the smile on your face when you need to pass someone or anything like that.

    4 speed tranny

It's cheaper in the long run to use a T-5. The RAD 4-spd will break quickly behind a mild 302 in a Mustang II. I can't imagine one trying to move a car as heavy as a '91 Thunderbird without breaking pretty quick.

    86-92 5.0 H.O swap

you'll need the 50oz flexplate and the matching harmonic balancer...the original '86-92 harmonic balancer will work. You need a '75-'78 Mustang II waterpump to use your Mustang II pulleys. The '86-'92 had a serpentine belt and the waterpump spun the wrong direction.

    Weakest link(s) of 2.3l?

You'll have a hard time finding out when the block cracks because they don't seem to unless something else fails and is thrown through the block. I believe I remember hearing about Joe Morgan breaking a crank at around 900hp on the dyno. That may have been rwhp, since I believe his Focus is...

    Is there a small VAM?

The big vam just came in specific years/models...has nothing to do with injector size. It specifically came in ALL SVOs, including the '84 and early 85 that had 30lb/hr injectors. It also came in the '87-'88 T-Bird. Everything else had the small VAM whether it had 30lb/hr or 35lb/hr injectors
