    2005 gt test drive

I don't think you'll be disappointed if you buy one... The '96 Eclipse I've been driving since 2001 hit 150K miles and started having reliability issues with the electronics under the hood. I figured I'd need something that can at least keep up with how fast the Eclipse was at 18psi of boost...

    No Reverse?

The Tremec 3550 behind my 351W had the same kind of problem with the stock tremec shifter on it. By the time it wouldn't stay in reverse, I ended up having to replace the whole reverse cluster (was only ~$140 in 2002). My problem was caused by the shift rod not being able to move all the way...

    351w heads

ARP makes a set of head bolts that have the 7/16" 302 thread size with a 1/2" shank to bolt 351W heads or aftermarket aluminum heads to the 302. The chart I have shows the following: 69-74 C90E-B,D; D0OE-C,G; D0OZ-C; 60.4cc, 1.84/1.54 valves 75-77 D5TE-EB; same size as previous, but has...

    2.3 Turbo intercooler plumbinb

I haven't ran mine yet, but have a planned route that works for 2" pipe. The intercooler I have has tanks at the top and bottom with the inlet and outlet both on the passenger side. It was made out of two Volvo IC cores. The turbo outlet will go straight toward the fender, but turn 90...

    V6 Turbo II

I was hoping to see another blow-through V6 prototype like what my friend's Capri has ... oh well, disappointed.

    Mustang Roundup in Bellevue, WA

ahh crap, it's already time for that show ... I was almost thinking of showing up this year, but I'd be embarrassed to enter either of my rolling II's since the White one is showing the last 6 years of not being garaged in Washington, and the Green one is 2/3rd black and 1/3rd rust+Green...

hooker 351 pinto headers work in ll ?

I have them on my 351W ... they fit "ok" back when I had manual brakes, manual steering, and an automatic transmission. In their current form, with power brakes, and Tremec 5spd, they have been modified to the point that I might as well have had a custom set made. Especially since the...

    How to weight your car!!

grrr, since all my misconceptions have been poked at now, I had to do some research... Surprisingly to me, it looks like the method in the video should be reasonably accurate. I guess the width and diamter of tires is all about reducing deflection under a load and doesn't really affect the...

    How to weight your car!!

The diameter of the tire also affects the size of the contact patch... Which car is heavier? 205/50/15 or 245/45/17 I can tell from experience which one has the larger contact patch, too bad I'm too lazy to go out and swap tires around and measure things.

    351W project questions

btw, for starters ... my old Ford started lasted a long time on the 351W, but eventually failed. The replacement Schuck's/Kragen/Checker lifetime warranty start was a weekly replacement that left me stranded a few times in the 3 weeks I put up with it. The fix was a 18 position Summit...

    How to weight your car!!

Hate to poopoo this, but.... My brain keeps telling me that the fatter the tires are, the more my car will weigh if I used that method. Find me a 2666lb minivan or station wagon, whatever that was.

    Rear end options

With an automatic behind a turbo 4, the 8" would almost be overkill for strength. I used to run my 351W+C4 with a 2.79 8" and broke 3 transmissions without hurting the rear end at all. Stick shift is a different story, but since you're running a boosted 4, you still wouldn't be that hard...

    Memory Lane

God, I haven't been on this site much in the last 3 years. Funny thing is I've been married for 2 of those 3 years. Kinda like I haven't really updated my website since early 2001. I started in 90 with a '74 Mustang II V6 as my first car that I actually had to pay for myself (Free '72...

    NW Mustang Roundup

No threads on this subject? I totally forgot about it this year until one of my coworkers asked if I went... It was the 16th for those that forgot like me. I found the attached picture while digging around on the internet to see what cars were there this year.

    reproduction control arms

I've been using Fatman upper control arms with the flush style upper ball joint, mostly for wheel clearance. Haven't tried lower control arms though. The fit is perfect ... just watch out for some that are sold narrower than stock for specific hot rod applications.

    stupid rice burners

<---- another daily driven Mitsubishi Eclipse here too... but 25mpg and 270hp plus it's quiet inside, doesn't feel cheaply made, and handles better than I've ever been able to make a II handle.

    Whoops

I have to ask: Was it engine cleaner or motor flush? The only engine cleaner I've ever used and driven with it still in the oil was ATF...the other's always seem to say to pour it in, idle for 5 minutes, drain oil and add fresh oil.
