How much should I expect painting le mans stripes would add to the cost of my paint job? I am finally getting my 67 FB shelby clone painted after 5 years worth of work ( and collecting dust ). It has been blasted, rusted metal cut out and replaced and shelby fiberglass added. I have a price...
Do you use different motor mounts with this kit or will the stock 67 ones work? I have not been on this forum for a couple of years waiting for my 67 shelby clone to be painted, this seems like a pretty good price to upgrade the front end...
Does anyone know where to get the half round nut that sits in the fender apron? I looked in a few catalogs and did not see it. Is it hard to get out? Thanks, Mike...
Have you checked your vacuum hoses? Check vacuum and timing. If both are correct then you might have 2 unrelated issues, one with the starting system and one probably with the fuel system.
Another thing to check is your fan size. If you just added a shroud to a car that did not previously have one and the previous owner installed a larger fan then that could be your problem. I can't remember the size of what the fan should be, seems like 17 inches. I had the same problem years...
Did you just replace the belt?
If so then the new belt is too long if you cannot adjust it any tighter. If it's the same belt that has been on the car then it's stretched and needs to be replaced.

The 67's had a different bracket and different mount than the 68's. If someone has changed the motor in the past and used the incorrect mounts then that could be the problem. If you get 68 mounting brackets and motor mounts you should be fine according to all that I have read. I have not...
Did you have an existing shroud you replaced or is this a new installation? My 67 did the same thing. I think the previous owner used the wrong motor mounts, 67's had their own specific mounts. You could try to space your fan closer to the motor and see if that helps.
Little bit of age on this subject, but did anyone ever decided what was a good replacement for a stock antenna? In the process of painting my car and I don't want to cut my fender for a replacement antenna unless it's a last resort.. thanks, Mike...
Jim -- Car looks awesome! I bet the feeling of accomplishment while driving is beyond belief! I have been at a standstill with mine, seems like no one wants to paint it. Someone came by last week and looked at it. Said it needed a little more primer and blocking and then paint. 2 guys...
Help with correct bracket placement
I have the hood pin brackets but cannot figure out which one is right and which is left...see picture.. Can you tell me if the one with the bend goes on the passenger side or drivers side. Thanks
Reenmachine--did you use any trunk weatherstrip or any special brand? The body shop is fitting my doors and trunk lid now and asked me for the weatherstip pieces. If they put the weatherstrip on before paint wont they have to be removed and reinstalled after paint? Probably would be destroyed...
I just received the 67 specific painless harness this past week. Looks really good. I kept thinking I wanted the factory replacement but after much research and advice from painless's forum I decided to get their kit. It looks really good. The factory underdash part was going to be as much...
I guess my real question is how much time do you save by using a factory harness vs. a painless one? Not really interested in doing any power upgrades. Thanks..
