    The 98 Cobra's are great cars with solid axles. The only issue is the 3:27 gears, change them out with 4:10+ and they become a whole new car. There's much more upside in the 4v motor.

    A little different yes but that's way out. Keep in mind this is a Mustang Dyno not a DynoJet, it typically loads the cars and reads 10% low. On a DynoJet this would be over 300 RWHP and I've never seen any 3 or 4 valve car over 300 RWHP without a mid-pipe, mufflers, and a good tune. I'd say...

    I did in my 02 GT going through a small town. I got a warning but since it was Saturday night I think the Cop just wanted to see if I'd been drinking and that gave him a chance to pull me over. The lesson I learned is if your going to the bar for a few make sure those babies are off!

    Have you considered a 96-98 Cobra, the 4V heads really make a difference and it's a better platform to modify from.

    I can't say what it's like on the 4.6 2v GT's but on the 4.6 4V Mach I can really feel the difference. I haven't dyno'd since but I can tell going though the gears it really helped on the low end since I bark 4th at over 100mph on a regular basis now on a good cool day.

    Look at my A/F, I don't know about the new GT's but it should be as flat as possiable to make max power and around A/F 12 is a good tune. An A/F of 13.5 on WOT is running very rich IMO. I'm sure your tailpipe is black.

    shifts for normal driving

    For normal driving I get into the highest gear as fast as possiable to save gas. I'd say I'm already in 5th by 50mph. I shift somewhere in the 2k-2500 range.

    With all these new cars coming out soon with 400 to 500 HP I wonder how any car is going to be allowed on a 1/4 mile track without a roll cage:rolleyes: Seems our track has strict rules to comply with NHRA rules so they will run here.

    I remember when a member on the registry discovered Ford had screwed up and put one from a GT on one side of the car and the right one on the other. That would be a bummer.:( No one would really notice but you'd know.
