When I did the head on my Jeep some of the keepers were like that. I soaked them in pb blaster, used a socket that fit over the valve stem but not the keepers and went to work with a mallet. Worked out eventually.
Best of luck
Looks good! I just did mine a short while ago, pulled it out, soaked in cleaners then hosed it down. Looks a million times better now, though you can still see a couple dark spots. Also took care of minor floorboard issues while it was out :nice:
F6 = '96
F7 = '97
As far as I know anyhow. I think that would be the difference between the GT40's and GT40P's in this case. They switched to the Ps somewhere in the 97 year, so it's still possible for a '97 to have the F6 heads.
Maybe :shrug:
If you can run down there, could verify by the 3...
Orange from BTM goes to white on the MSD box.
White on the BTM takes anything that WAS on the white of the MSD, in your case nothing.

I say build up a fresh engine... nice new shortblock (stroker? I'm in a stroker mood hah), add gofast goodies on to that. When it's all said and done, drop it in. If you're looking for forced induction and 400+hp, I don't think a 200k shortblock is a good place to start lol. If it's either...
How strange... hmm, well I'll leave it uncapped then, I assume this Walbro 255 is meant to be run like that. I'll check out that old pump tomorrow, see what's up.
Thanks for the help mate, can always rely on SN and it's knowledgeable members :nice:
Seemed to run fine when it was and it's still got EFI on it. I was thinking it's possible that there was a separate return line, kinda loosely plugged into the tank sitting kinda away from everything else... so I guess I might be modifying my question to what is the smaller line off the fuel...
