    9/10 shops are going to give you a better deal for buying the parts through them. If you bring your own parts, the labor will be marked up compared to what it would be if you get the parts through them. Maybe since my grandfather owned a garage back in Pittsburgh I see it differently, but...

    I work at a 4x4 shop and our basic gear quote is about $600 OTD for a 2wd roughly $200 for ring and pinion (precision or genuine gear) $100 for the install kit $300 for labor
