    Differences: 96 F-150 302 vs. 93 GT 302

Cams are different, my dad has an F150 and it has a cam ground for low end torque, naturally since it is a truck. Manifolds are different since it is not an HO. Water pumps turn the other way IIRC, too.

    Wiring up gauges...

Ok i took her for a spin. The gauge is awesome, it is very accurate. The stock gauge still works too, and now i can compare. Whats funny is that even though the autometer gauge will move up and down as temp fluctuates, the stock gauge stays in the same spot. Its great to know what my...

I did not paint the housing, will it rust? Should I paint the inside too?

    Wiring up gauges...

I bought a new cast housing (crappy) from autozone and drilled and tapped it. I used a 45/64ths bit and a 1/2" NPT tap. Spent around 50 bucks on all this sh1t but at least it will look clean and still have a functioning stock sender. I will keep you all posted.

I have a Mr. Gasket thermostat in there now, its only a year old. Thanks though.

    Wiring up gauges...

I really want to use the Tstat housing drilled/tapped for the autometer gauge because that would be the most accurate reading for water temp. Water right after it leaves the tstat is actual engine temp since it hasnt been altered by going through the rad first, straight out the engine is what i...

best bang for the buck head?

Best bang for the buck heads would be AFR185s for that 331. 185cc ports and 2.02 valves. Same price as the 165s, cant beat that.

    Nitto drag radial Tire PSI.

    Nitto drag radial Tire PSI.

Scenario. Daily driven HCI 5.0 with 245 nittos on stock rims. What should be the tire psi if i want to hook 'okay' and still not alter gas mileage. Right now they are on like 35 psi which is high, what should they be lowered to?

    Wiring up gauges...

Ok, heres the deal. I'm going to drill that recess thats in the thermostat housing and tap it then screw the autometer sensor in there. I think thats the most accurate reading and i can keep the stock sensor. Much better dont you think?

Thanks for the reply srothfuss but i have mechanical gauges. One more question again, sorry. I am going to poke a hole through my steering column grommet and use that to route the capillary tube up through the back of the block and then in between the upper and lower manifold. I'm...

    Wiring up gauges...

I'm going to dig up this thread since I don't want to start a new one, I found this one on search. I am installing a mechanical autometer water temp gauge now. My lower intake has 2 water temp sensors, one for the ECU and one for the dash. I am assuming I relocate the ECU sensor to...

Next month im going 306, crank question.

thanks for the response michael. But i actually do not want a KB because they boost at such a low RPM and i want to stay out of boost when cruising. Which is why i opted for the centri or turbo. I just think a turbo'd 306 with 3.27 gears would get awesome gas mileage when cruising and...

Next month im going 306, crank question.

I forgot to add, im leaning towards the 306 with stock crank. Those stock cranks are pretty strong as a matter of fact, im not worried about breaking it. I will probably do the 306 and bolt a turbo on it run 6 psi and call it a day. again, if i do 331 my shop suggests to keep it NA...

Next month im going 306, crank question.

Rick I have AFR 165s, will that be ok for a street blown 331 on a stock block? I am really worried about reliability and gas mileage guys, this is my daily driver and i really want it to perform for both economy and performance, yes that is do-able. holy crap what is the...
