Installing The Sport Mirrors On My New Doors

They are sometimes called riv nuts. There is a special tool, which looks and operates just like a pop rivet gun. They way it works is you first get the correct size riv nut. Im not talking about the screw size(although obviously that matters) I am talking about the diameter and grip length. If...

    Engine Need A Little Help

Are you getting fuel? Do you see fuel spray out when you open the throttle while looking down the carb? You also need to make sure the distributor was installed at TDC on the compressions stroke. if not, it will try to fire on the exhaust stroke. You can pull the #1 plug, hold your finger up...

Repro Glass Tinting, Bolt Vs Glue In

I am looking into replacing the glass in my 69. It has the original glue in door glass with the light green tint. 1st question, has anybody purchased the reproduction glass? How does it fit and look? 2nd, Are there any advantages to bolt in glass vs glue in glass? My biggest issue is that...

    Which Wiring Harness To Use...

If it is stock and you are not planning on adding more stress to the electrical system, I would just get the reproduction harnesses. These have the correct plugs and you can buy and replace a section at a time . Even if you are doing something common like adding halogen lights, or an electric...

    65 mustang front suspension

You are correct.. The stock gearboxes were progressive and not linear where a rack is a constant linear ratio. Comparing my power TCP rack to the factory power system, the TCP rack is much more responsive off center.. However, parking took a little getting used to as as it required more turns...

Wrong Head Gasket? Knocking after rebuild

Pressure will drop as it warms up. What weight oil are you running? You might consider putting a thicker weight in. Also is this with a accurate gauge or a stock gauge? I have the original gauge and a auto meter gauge both installed, and while they both correlate together, but I don't trust...

    Drivetrain Tremec 5 Speed

I went from a C4 to a TKO600 also in my 69. Bought the entire kit from modern driveline. I am using their cable clutch and their shifter. Simple to install, and the cable is very heavy duty. Pedal feel is not bad at all, in my opinion doing the work for a hydraulic wouldn't be that much of a...

Fuel gauge or sending unit problem

What year is your car? There is a Instrument Voltage Regulator that feeds power to all of the gauges other than the ammeter/volts. It should be on the back of you instrument cluster. It cuts the 12 volts to about 6 volts. This regulator can give erroneous readings on the gauges. And in my...

What is correct paint scheme for 69 coupe side scoops?

I believe they should be painted the same color as the rest of the body, with the chrome trim piece on top.

    Runs great cold!

Its a long shot, but try it with your gas cap off. If your tank is not venting properly, it can cause enough vaccum to overcome the fuel pump and prevent fuel from flowing. Does your gas tank look like its been collapsed?

    Not quiet, but quietER exhaust

Dynamax super turbos will be quiet during cruise/idle, but moderately loud when you step on it..They have a nice, deep sound.. Had them on mine for a while and it sounded really good, only got rid of them because I wanted something louder ;)

    Hood Hinges

I just had mine show up yesterday.. The HD Dynacorn hinges are about 2-3 times thicker than the stock hinges.. Yes, they are that much thicker! I had a whole bunch of dynacorn stuff show up, very impressed with the quality of the stampings. that said, I haven't tried to fit anything yet, but...

Suspension Alignment / front end measurements

I need some measurements and advice on how to square up my front end which is a 69 Coupe with TCP Coilover with adjustable upper arms. When I installed this setup, I took measurements off of my original suspension which obviously wasn't square. The lower arms must have been skewed to one side...

Engine What's The Best Rpm For 302?

To fine my sweet spot, I temp installed a vacuum guage and zip tied it around my steering column. I changed gear/gas to get the most speed with the most vacuum. Which oddly enough, is in 4th. In 5th(od) The load (even at the same speed as in 4th) Is so great that the vacuum goes to pretty...

    65 Mustang Gas Cap Gasket

Did you have this problem with your old cap? Look for a small hole or something on the inside of the cap. I bought the lockable key cap because that was the only one I could find that said vented in the description. My cap had a little valve looking thing on it, and I blew through it to make...

    65 Mustang Gas Cap Gasket

Is this a new gas cap? Make sure the gas cap is properly vented. I replaced my gas cap and a lot of the caps being sold were non vented. I managed to find one that was vented. You can add a small line coming off the filler neck behind the gas capand run it to the outside of the car, keeping it...

    65 Mustang Subframe Connectors

In my opinion, Maier Racing has the best subframe connectors. They connect each side at 4 places instead of 2. With these connectors, I can place a jack under the front frame rail, just behind the wheel, and lift the whole side of the car up. Check out the pics. Im sure other connectors can do...
