    Are 17's too small?

Having a taller rim does nothing good performance wise, because you size match the tires and it's all the same diameter. Taller rim means more metal and the sidewalls of the tire have to be made stiffer to support the weight, meaning the tire still weighs just as much and the rims weight even...

    3.8 or 3.9

4.5L SVO V6 was used in NASCAR some 20 years ago. So at one time they did make good V6's, and they are planning on making a DOHC 3.5L that puts out around 260-270hp if that's the number you use for comparisons. Now is that the 3.8L Grand Prix? A drag racer took one out to the track on friday, I...

    3.8 or 3.9

Quote from Wikipedia It basically is a 3.8L, it's just the stroke is SLIGHTLY longer. The block, the pistons, cam, valves, heads, intakes, and so on are all the same. The crank and the rods are the only minute difference. Why they did it, don't know. They knew they were putting the 4.0 in the...

    3.8 or 3.9

Some of the ones in 2004 had a slightly longer stroke, but they all were detuned to the same specs. The 3.8 is a 232ci 3797cc with a 96.5 mm bore and 86.4 mm stroke to the 3.9 is a 236ci 3857cc engine with it's 96.5 mm bore and 87.9 mm stroke, atleast the size of the engine was worked out from...

What is the most realistic power numbers

Higher gears is for better acceleration but it lowers the top speed. Lower gears hurts acceleration but increases top speed. 5200 rpms in 3rd gear (1:1) with 25.5" stock V6 wheels and 3.27 final drive is 120.68 mph but with 4.10 final drive is 88.36 mph. It helps acceleration by doing mechanical...

    Best sounding muffler?

Force Mufflers are the same as Flowmasters, but A LOT cheaper. Only complaints with Flowmaster I hear is not loud enough for some people (my stock GT mufflers are perfect for me so) and they are slightly more restrictive than Magnaflows. Both sound good, Flowmaster has more of a rumble at idle...

    What do you think?..

Under 1.5" drop, no Over 1.5" drop, yes exactly 1.5" all around, good idea to, some say you do, some say you don't. Sometimes, it's a good idea to get new sway bar couplings too with a 1.5"+ drop that way the sway bar and control arms still remain in line with each other giving the best ride and...

    Wheel sizes??

I believe for 17x8, use 245/45R-17 tires and for 17x9 275/40R-17. Those all keep the total circumference close to the same to keep the speedometer dead on. Only downside to bigger rims is about 68 pounds extra added to the car.

    What do you think?..

Nice rims, gonna look real good after a good 1" drop. If you want a more aggressive look and stance, throw a chin spoiler on it. I'm debating on welding up my stockers to make them 15x9's and confuse anyone who sees them, or either Steeda ultalite rims or FR500's.

    Pressing the Brake: Crunching Sound

Not a clue, but I know exactly what you're talking about. It sounds like it's right there in front of you in the engine or the pedal. I haven't looked into what it was, just kinda figured it had something to do with the pedal.

    Real or rumor

Yes, but they changed all the oils without us knowing how due that camaro was for an oil change. For those with ford automatics, it's next to impossible. Ford mechanics do not recomend any other synthetic oil besides mercon V I believe it is (if not it's mercon IV) because the others don't...

    Real or rumor

My engine ran smoother, but not 100% sure if it increased power. Haven't dyno'd my car, threw dual exhaust on the next day, and it went from 50 to 90 degrees out in no time. But 6-8hp, probably not, a few possibly, it did feel smoother so.

What is the most realistic power numbers

Look at the stickers on the radiator cover, it should say 3.8 or 3.9 on it. Underdrive pulleys give 7rwhp, shorties don't give too much, true dual exhaust can range depending on mufflers and cats, but about the same as pulleys probably, intake gives little and a simple K&N drop in usually yields...

    what does your v6 run

For an auto 2000, I can pull off mid-high 15's, if I could launch. And b52yellow, are you running 91 octane without a tune?

    HELP powerloss or not ?

Yeah, it's not going to get hot really, I can drive for an hour, make a pass on the track and touch the intake cause it isn't hot. On the Mac CAI, there would have been 2 holes on the tube before the throttle body. One is for the IAT sensor which is on the 99-00 and some 01's, but mid-01 to 04...

    HELP powerloss or not ?

If you are talking about the gasket between the MAF and the pipe that leads into the fender, I wouldn't think it would loose power, it'll just have a sound of sucking air not from the filter. Some type of sealent would stop that, and if you just want to go on the safe side, you could put some in...

    Cold Air Indction Questions...

If that's for a fully ported setup, $900 is cheaper than the places online. You could get a good boost in horsepower, don't know the exact amount, but if you throw a cam in there with it, quick ~50rwhp increase, and more depending on how much porting you want and how wild of a cam you want.

    Cold Air Indction Questions...

Well, bigger filter is able to flow more, but both kits flow twice as much as what the V6 can pull in. When moving, both pull in about the same temp air, and unless your driving in a VERY deep puddle, you shouldn't be pulling in water. Stock air box pulls in air from the same spot a fenderwell...
