    New rearend

how much hp do you plan? If under 300, the 7.5" is strong enough to support 300rwhp with the right differential, under 300rwhp the 8.8 is too much with how much it weighs. Either way, good luck with the rear stuff. Would be nice to find a good 3.73 or 4.10 with a posi in it for cheap.

    cold air intake

unfiltered and unmetered air can cause it to run rough and if something big finds its way in there, that wouldn't be good. I believe the hole that you are looking at is for the IAT sensor which is on 99-00 Mustangs, but on 01-04, the IAT was integrated into the MAF. You would have to find a way...

"Ricer" writes a letter to Car Craft...must read

Not only that, but the people who go off and buy a $40,000 sports car and say how much better their car is than my $8,000 V6. A real comparison is that $40k car and the $34k Cobra which could easily win and still have alittle money left over.

"Ricer" writes a letter to Car Craft...must read

For one, why did you pull up a thread that is 2 years old? Second off, what they are refering to are those people who feel OMG I HAVE INTAKE AND EXHAUST AND CAN BEAT EVERYTHING then they can't do crap, not the people who actually do something and get down and dirty in the car. Anyways, hp is...

Where can I find a intake gasket ????

I think what he means is the gasket where the MAF meets up with the fenderwell tube. I would like to know, I would like to replace mine.

    v6 dual exhuast advice

Well, the idea of good backpressure applies to a certain range of RPM, or well exhaust flows to be specific. Exhaust is a high pressure gas, so when it is released it creates a pressure wave. The theory is you want that wave to move at a specific speed so that the trough of this pressure wave...

    Supercharger for 2002 v6

Well, it's the fact that the Vortech system for the V6 does not have an intercooler, so it limits you do the amount of boost you can run since it's just going to get too hot after 7-8psi. A procharger comes with an intercooler so you can run it up as high as the pistons would take, 11psi.

    Turbo??

From what I have heard, the 8.8 is just about a bolt up. As for the tranny, a stronger valve body (shift kit) or researching the J-mod, but the J-mod/Jerry-mod requires drilling into your valve body's seperator plate so if you don't want to be enlarging the holes, worried you might mess...

    Oil Pressure Switch/Sending Unit Location??

So that's why I couldn't find it...burried in there. On my car, it'll jump up and down for about 5 minutes, then it's fine in the center. I'm thinking about just putting in an electrical oil gauge anyways since this is just a switch, with a gauge I could get readings all the time.

    Visual Upgrades?

Well, if you are really into performance, remember that going to 17" rims and wider tires adds alot of weight. 17x9 rims with 275/40-17 is about 17 pounds heavier, so you gain 68 pounts, plus since the 275/40 is about .2" bigger, you'll loose a good tenth off your time. But on the other extreme...

V6 with hood scoop - stock?

Aha, ok, I knew there was some package that included it in one of the years. Pony package sounds about right too.

V6 with hood scoop - stock?

Yes, I do believe in 2004 for the 40th aniversary, the V6's had the GT scoops. I know there was atleast one year where there was some package to put the GT scoops on the V6.

    Turbo??

So true. But the insurance company wouldn't kill you, they would love you...the bill on the other hand...yeah not going there lol. As for getting 300rwhp without the turbo, that's gonna be HARD. With a turbo, 300rwhp is nothing. P&P intake and heads, a good twin ball-bearing turbo setup, a good...

    '03 Cobra Exhaust for a '02 V6 ?

Yeah, it's probably not worth it. On a Cobra, the exhaust goes underneath the axle because of the IRS system last I have seen. On the solid rear axle like the GT, Mach, Bullitt and V6, it goes up and over high enough so the axle doesnt break it.

    Your best/worst self-install

    1. Probably my CAI. My dad and I just installing it on christmas day, was fun. Sure didn't yeild much more than a filter and gave me a cool whistle but it's great for ADD. 2. Freaking plug and wires. The clips were attached to the back of the block and eventually I just cut the wires and didn't...

    ported heads

That was Super Six Motorsports 4.3L Stroker using the windstar plastic intake (which is also the same as the F150's intake, but the F150 is metal and stronger), plus they threw a shot of nitrous in it to run 10's. The sound will change some with a cam. A deep sound is caused by the frequency of...

NO MACH 1 but a CORVETTE instead

I saw a Stingray at the track last night that was absolutely orgasmic. The roaring sound of the big block and no mufflers was just to die for...or maybe to live for lol. It ran 8.6 seconds on the 1/4 mile.

1979 L82. The garage ate it though lol.

    2.25 or 2.5 inch exhaust?

It all depends on what you are going for. If you want the best possible for a mostly stock V6 that you plan on just a filter/intake and exhaust, then the GT take off will probably serve it's purpose. But if you plan on having more mods or you want a louder, deeper sound, the magnaflows will work...

    Flowmaster VS Magnaflow

straight through design means it's just a tube that goes straight instead of like chambered mufflers have chambers with areas walled off cept small holes. Straight through mufflers flow alot better, as far as sound it's all opinion. Magnaflow has spent time and money on creating a muffler that...
