    Electrical Headlights

There is a problem with the factorry fog lights drawing to much current through the headlight switch and the headlight switch overheating. There are several write ups on how to wire a relay in to fix the problem. Until you fix it it will only get worse and possible melt your headlight switch.

    Engine Front Cover Crack...

Try the JB Weld you can always pull it and change it if the JB doesn't work. You might be able to lay a bead down so it won't even look bad. Now if you have unlimited time and funds or are OCD just change it know so you don't drive yourself crazy thinking about it. Good luck

Engine Engine Mounts - Rubber vs Poly

Strictly Street cruising spend the $30.00 on the rubber mounts and use the rest for gas. If anything the poly mounts will transfer more vibration to the chassis. My 2 cents worth.

Electrical HELP !! Driving and just quit...

The ignition switches are prone to fail on these cars due to age. They are not that hard to change, just have to pull the covers off of the steering column and if I remember right lower the column the switch sits on top of the column. The switch is held on with anti tamper screws but I was able...

Fox Passenger door stuck locked ... how can I get open

I had one seize on my 86 Hatchback. On the hatchback you can pull the door panel off from inside the car without damaging it. It is not fun but also not that difficult. Same screws and clips as when the door is open. If I remember correctly I pulled the seat out to get some extra room. The panel...

    Engine Troubles

Check for vacuum leaks. You had the intake manifold off, double check all the hoses etc then check the intake gasket is not leaking don't forget there is a large vacumm port under the back side of the intake that could have been overlooked or popped off.

Engine My on going lower intake dilemma w/pics

I'm not quite sure why you have so little space at the top off your gaskets. I did a google image search on "intake gasket ford 302 instructions" and found quite a bit of information. One thing I saw was putting some studs in to help hold everything in place until you get it bolted. Maybe...

2.8 after market valve covers / distributors

Cool, I saw you car in the other post after I replied, nice project, fun to be differnt. 1:1 sounds about right I think the HP was little underrated back in the day for those engines, the Capris of the day flat out ran fast. Once sorted out my Pinto was a fun and dependable car. I was...

2.8 after market valve covers / distributors

Wow Memories. My first car was a 1976, 2.8L Pinto and I beat the snot out of that little car for 10 plus years finally gave it to friend in need after the interior gave up and no AC while living in Florida. What transmission do you have. I "built" my engine in 1983 by adding a Crane Cam ...

Paint and Body Painting Side view mirrors

They are not hard to take off. Prep is important, clean, scuff, prime, scuff and clean again before paint. If you want a more satin black finish close to stock I painted mine with SEM bumper paint which has a flex agent in it.

    Fuel Fuel Injector replacement

Since it sat for 10 years I would drop the tank and clean it real good, if you have a helper it is not too hard of a job. Why take the chance of clogging a new injector. Also may want to replace the rubber on the filler neck while its out, they tear easy as they get old. Also if the valve...

Hey everyone, I'm new here, please help a girl out with some advice! Sell or restore?

Decision Decisions, If it were me I would seriously considering the 10K budget you plan for restoring and use that to get another newer Mustang. I understand the sentimental attachment, I still have the first new car I ever bought 1988 GT, but believe me when I say it is not reciprocated, the...

Engine What Valve covers fit the trickflow heads and rockers without modification ?

Most roller rockers require some extra clearance. I believe even the stock covers require removal of an internal baffle. Several aftermarket "tall" covers work but often require an upper intake manifold spacer which in turn may interfere with a stock hood. It did on my 86. Sorry I don't know...
